Offline | Its hard to say Bhozar because I'm still not a "driver", I had old nearly bald AO48 on last time and in theory found them better but maybe I was pushing it harder this time and I think sometimes I was in the wrong gear on a bend thus promoting wheelspin. I did notice with the back ones the rubber had melted and rolled over a little on the edges. I think the real test will be with an instructor with me or a decent driver in the car, next time at Bedford I want to book an all day one and book an Instructor for a couple of sessions. Ideally I would like to fit 225 50-15 Toyo 888 but this will mean new wheels. I was happy that my discs had gone blue so I must of been late braking even if I didn't have any control in the corners Slicks 11.77@115.92mph Street tyres 12.162 @ 119.02 It's not how much you spend but how well you spend it |

| minitorque | I might come up to the Santa Pod at the weekend and watch Paul & BigShow... See what the weather is like i hear it might rain ![]() You did good round Bedford I enjoyed the ride I did notice the wheel spinning coming on to the back straight. I felt you just gunning it out the corner! ( Lead foot ) Braking was fine there was just a couple of times i did think you might have over shot the corner but you managed to pull it back and clip the apex.I agree about doing a full track day because you just start to get into it towards the end of an evening session then it's time to pack up and go home. Having an instructor who knows the track better will help you out alot! [center]Donnington Park 1.25 secs @ 1221kg / 2688lbs [ 2 -UP ] |

Offline | I'm getting more and more tempted to join in on a track day. If one was organised on here in a few months time it would be very, very hard to say no... as long as the car is track-able by then lol. Another thing... is the standard brake setup with Mintex 1144's ok for a track day? Or would it be better to wait until a brake upgrade or at least to wait until I could afford a brake upgrade before trying a track day lol ![]() |

Offline | The FWD class you are talking about with Guy and his customers are running in the HKS series which is for Jap cars only. Where as Euro Sport Compact class is made up of cars which are made in Europe, it would be nice to have a load of 10sec Minis to mix it up with the VW's Rover Lancia. Next ESC meeting will be at USC Ultimate Street Car - Modified Car Show/Event Slicks 11.77@115.92mph Street tyres 12.162 @ 119.02 It's not how much you spend but how well you spend it |

| The Power Cube | i'd be well up for doing a 1320ft, i bet it would be a right buzz, flooring it off the line. I just can't get my head round the inertia strain on all the parts as they go from zero to instant use under so much demand. I know they are all race parts, but i feel they work better in motion, at min 5mph rolling start. Do they do rolling start drags? like a 5mph rolling start category and a 10mph rolling start category? good idea no? but obvisouly we'd be seeing 9's on those runs ![]() Cheers, K. ![]() Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing... |

Offline | Karl, As Jaw said with the power you've got you've got to have control off the line otherwise hello wheelspin which will effect your ET. As for strain on parts if you remain on street tyres there will be none, if you bolt on slicks and launch at 7000 then the clutch will take the abuse unless you have a twin plate like mine which doesn't give then it'll just snap the driveshafts. I presume that your front wishbone bushes have been upgraded. So you'll be okay as you got those big old Porshe brakes you cant put 15 inch drag slicks on so you dont have to worry ![]() Slicks 11.77@115.92mph Street tyres 12.162 @ 119.02 It's not how much you spend but how well you spend it |

Offline | At your age that would be dangerous. Forgot to say that I had over 200 runs on the old driveshafts launching with nitrous and 6-7k All was good until i asked for a clutch that didn't slip ![]() Slicks 11.77@115.92mph Street tyres 12.162 @ 119.02 It's not how much you spend but how well you spend it |
