Offline | JCW tips I bought JCW tips and wondering how to install them: on JCW ones there is a screw, but on my stock tips there isn't . So what can I do to remove stock ones ? Are they welded to the exhaust or what else ? Thanks a lot! |

| Remember | Different diameter/fitting anyway, they are not a simple swap over if you are trying to put these on a stock MCS exhaust ![]() You'll need to do some cutting, Damo knows how much work this is and there is a thread about it if you search for information The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

Offline | Okay here we go. So 1. get the exhaust tips there will be 4 spot welds around the back end of both tips. You need to drill them out, get your drill and a drill bit the same size as the welds (about 5mm) and drill though each spot weld, all the way through so you can see the bit inside the tips. 2. See picture these 2 metal pieces should slide out of each tip with a slight bit of persuation. This allows the tips to now be big enough to slide over the existing exaught pipes (when the original tips are removed) 3. On each tip there should be 2 spot welds that you drilled out on the top side of each tip (the JCW side). Now you need to get some nuts and bolts that adequatly fit though these 2 holes on each tip. 4. Remove your old tips, to do this there is 1 allen key gromet on the underside of each original tip that needs loosening off and the tips should just pull off. If tight put a bit of WD40 on them. 5. Now this bit is a little fidily, but, you should have 2 JCW tips with 2 bolts in each tip and nuts. You might want to cut the botls down to about 3cm just to make it look nice and neat and tidy. 6. Once the original tips are removed you need to tighten the nuts on the new bolts so there is about 1cm on each bolts poking through into the JCW tips. 7. Slide the tips over the exaughst end. But you will find that the bolts get in the way on the inside, but this is ok it means it will be a nice tight fit when finished. Slide the tips on but angle each tip when sliding so the jcw symbol is raised this will created a large enough gap to get the bolts over the exuaghst. Now pull down on the tip and the exaughst with friction will slide around the exhaust pipe and because there is a small piece of bent metal under each exaughst the tip will fit very tightly and will not fall off ever! 8. clean the finger prints of the tips and stand back to make sure they are straight, if not adjust as and when. 9. Start her up, becuase the tips are not rounded at the end like the originals you will be able to get your exhaust to pop and bang whilst revving specially when it cold. 10. Finished, it was worth it and no-one else knows its not a JCW exhaust car. 11. Also i always think the exhuast is a little low on the hanger so i have on mine got under the car and fitted new smaller exhaust hanger rubbers so the exhaust is higher and it looks sweeet. ****************************Finally update*** I have tried to upload my photos and it wont let me for some reason anyone know how so i can so you the photos.**************************** |
