Offline | Just to keep you updated here, haven't noticed anymore issues with slip and break in period is taking slightly longer (due to me having to conserve fuel, most of the maidenhead shell garages are drying up). While were waiting could we discuss good and bad clutch behavior and what some of do day to day to preserve clutch longetivity? ![]() |

Offline | Less revs, less high torque pull aways. Once you master that you will be use to people beeping you for being so slow. To be serious.... just dont do really harsh pull away and accelerate hard when the clutch is up and not during gearchanges. Match revs both up and down changes. But most of all..... have fun!! Its a waste of money if you are going to cruise around, you should have just left it stock otherwise. |

Offline | I uprated this one because the stock clearly couldn't cope, I open it up on the right roads but in day to day traffic cruising is the way to go ![]() I was thinking on a basic level, for example... is sitting at the lights with your foot on the clutch, in gear while waiting or stick it neutral. I ask this as when in neutral the flywheel chatters on idle but when the clutch is depressed it goes away... |

Offline | It's our sprung clutch discs slapping back and forth-that's all. So yes I have clutch chatter. At rest manual cars should be in neutral with the driver at the ready(left foot and right arm for us guys across the pond). There's no need to wear out your clutch release bearing or put extra time logging thrust on the crank thrust surfaces with the clutch depressed. You should only select a gear when you want to move or are moving! ![]() Jeremy 2004 MCS |

Offline | I have the chatter too with my FX300, but I was expecting that. The clutch pedal is a lot lighter than it was before, but I have only driven the car for 5 minutes so far. |
