Rogue Engineering Cross Drilled Rotors and Stainless Lines Installed

I just installed a set of front and rear cross drilled rotors and stainless brake lines from Rogue Engineering. Before I installed the brakes, I had my local electroplater, CAD plate them so they stay looking nice and silver on all the surfaces not touched by the pads. Now I don't have to look at rusty rotors though my open 18" OZ superleggera wheels! They do look sharp.... and they will fit nicely under my future Auto-X specific wheelset.

BTW, I finally weighed my wheel/tire combo. 37 lbs each. Of course not as light as a 16" setup, but certainly lighter than the stock 16" runflats at close to 50 lbs each.

Car is filthy right now...

And if my KW Coilovers I pre-ordered last month would get here... then I might be looking like this retouched image

That looks SOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooo good!

Any improvement in feel or stopping distance?

What difference can you feel going from the 50pounders to the OZ's?

Definately improved pedal feel! Much firmer now.

Car is noticable quicker with the lighter wheels.

All I can say Cheesey D is thank god for the Wizard... 20 minutes later, it was gone. they needed to pull down the headliner slightly on the passenger side, but it went back up no problem.

Dammit Rich.
The proper answer would have been:

NO, save your money, the brakes feel mushy and the lighter wheels make the car slower.

Guess I'll start saving (hiding) some money.

when you do your photoshop lowering, don't forget to include the reduced ground clearance! i found a significant difference when going from stock 17's with runflats to 16" superleggeras with Kuhmos...(34lbs by the way)

also, the cad plating may mess with the friction co-efficient for the brakes...did you look into this?

The stock 16" setup doesn't weight 50lbs per corner, does it? That's what the 17" setup weighs. The stock wheels (R84 VSpokes or X-Lites or whatever the dang things are called) weigh about 17 pounds, and I'd think the 16" runflats would be a little lighter than the 25lb 17" runflats. Call it 23lbs, maybe? (I don't know.)

Anyway, that would add up to about 40 lbs. The fact that you've been able to "beat" that with an 18" solution is quite impressive. Good job!

Are those rotors any bigger than stock? They look tiny, but that's probably just because they're behind those big wheels!

The CAD plating wears off on the braking surface after a couple of drives. The only effect/purpose of the plating is cosmetic

I may be mistaken... I'm going to throw one of my 16's on the scale.

Rotors are stock units. They do look tiny, but I want to be able to fit a 15 or 16 autocross specific wheel/tire set in the near future.
