What to do???

I've got a Cooper S Cab. I love it to bits, but I've been bitten by the mod bug after a spin in an incredibly fast Cooper S.

Now.. I already have a JCW re-map, so I think Iridium spark plugs are a must. I want a reduced pully wheel, but not sure on what reduction to go for, I;d like an air filter of some description.

the last and most important thing for me is the exhaust and manifold.

I want one that is throaty and reasonably loud without being rediculous, but also one that will spit burble and bang like my stock exhaust.
So suggestions please...

For reference, this is the car in question.

Milltek for the exhaust! Mine is loud enough for me and pops like mad! Only have the catback though.

I had a JCW MCSC before my GP, its awesome, go all the way, get it all, oh and make sure you get the under chassis strut braces from GTT those are just the best thing ever for the convertible

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?

Hmm. I have an issue with that. Dont really want GTT bits on the car if I'm honest. I've got the JCW Strut brace on it now. Its enough for me. I just want a bit more noise and a smidge more poke. Nothing silly. Would be happy at circa 200BHP.

Heard good things about Miltek...

might have to look into ne of thoes in a bit more detail.

Trust me, I was the same, didn't want anything other than JCW, but you won't believe how much they tighten the car up.

I remember when I got rid of mine and took them off, the whole thing just felt like pants, and it spoilt my last few weeks with her

They're now on my GP though

I think that I would put milltek + janspeed/GTT manifold in the ****ing loud category above 4K, that may be more than you want.

I would go manifold + one ball or stock manifold with milltek.

unless you want loads of noise then the combo is awesome

The GTT braces are very nice, and do make a difference. Any reason why you don't want GTT parts?

The JCW/M airbox is a good mod if you are looking to keep things subtle.

Loui how come you are selling the janspeed, you upgrading or downgrading?

Upgrading Nick.

Ell also get the JCW map removed its naff, on my car it was putting way to much fuel in an was actually killing the power. My route if i were you would be:-

Janspeed manifold
One ball stock exhaust
15% pulley
GRS inercooler
1320 spec NGK plug
1320 Custom Map
Keep standard Airbox
Possibly some 380cc injectors

what have you gone for? louder?

I would second Loui's list.

If you want more supercharger noise go for a JCW airbox with flap + plug removed, unless you are going for the janspeed because you won't really hear the supercharger with that on.

There is a reason, but I don't want to go into it on here as I'll probably get banned or summat.

I like the sound of the Janspeed... was watchin a vid of that. Sounds nice!

What other pully's are there? is 15% like a sensible one?

15/16/17/18/19% I think they are all available from different suppliers. The higher the percentage decrease the more you shift the torque down the powerband but with it you create more heat. If you rev your engine a lot then a 15% is probably the best but if you rarely hit 6K then a 19% is best. For over 17% you will defiantly need an uprated intercooler and 17% is border line.

There is always a ton of bs about 17% always requiring a bigger intercooler but the truth is it depends how you drive. If you are off and on the power hard often then yes you will need one. It you are cruising around and occassionaly put your foot down then id say you dont especially in the UK.

I would say plugs, belt, 17% pulley, sort the bypass valve and maybe a miltek cat back?

Your welcome to have a go in mine to see what you think. Its just that spec, nothing else!
