Karl, is it the same Lambo from back in January or maybe last year... seems to be quite a common story of yours?

OK, now you got my intrest....

I highly doubt that kept up with a Lambo and if you did either the person couldn't drive or it was firing on only two cylinders...

All this talk is starting to go a way over the top. If you think that you are pulling those numbers, it is time to go to an independent dyno like Power Torque and let him post his findings up on the WEB. All you are doing at this point is make yourself look bad.

C'mon Karl, let's keep it real.

so any tips for me lambo baiting, will it be best if i try ..out braking, aim for high cornering speed,
or just try out right grunt,

or did you master the bull with all 3

Hi Alski.

No real tips really, just do what feels right and drive naturally. I'd say that you should use your light weight and big brakes to your advantage and really use them hard at the very last second - this alone gains you a big advantage, and yes, cornering speed is up on the list too.

Nice one that you have a good bhp under the bonnet :-) yeah man, it's a top laugh. I'm sure you'll have loads a fun!!!

I don't think i am ever going to convince this MINI community about my lambo encounter LOL, but you will find out yourself how sick these MINI's can be - i am sure you already know. And what matters is that me and my friend experienced it first hand, so we are not bothered if anyone beleives us - we both know it happened

Oh, and please be sure to drive safetly and/or on a track. I've had a few friends die from others driving dangerously so i have a personal gripe about this one :-))) It becomes more of an issue with modded cars becuase the tempation to use them is greater.

Enjoy .....and keep an eye on that oil level

Cheers,
K.

(with my window open i was about 4 or 5 meters away from the pipes while the engine was chatting like a footy crowd) that in itself was the best part!! No, i am mistaken, the best part was about 5 minutes later when we'd pulled over and me and my mate just looked at each other (like when the trotters sold that watch for £6million) we couldn't stop laughing in total hysterics. and i will always remeber what my mate said... "Dude, you know that he will be on his way back to the dealership now don't you, asking for his money back" - classic!!!

Not at all.

Doing 70mph in a 30mph zone ona side street where children play is STUPID !!! and kills people!

Doing 70mph on the motorway at 2am in the morning with nobody there is far safer.

How am i hypocrytical LOL

Dont underestimate Karls car guys, I was going round CC in 1 min 20 secs on road tyres, fully road legal, no cage etc in my then GTT260 spec road car. Ive not seen a road lambo go round in that there, sure its doable, (just) but I know both Graham GRS and Bhozar were suprised that given all day in there Minis at CC neither could better 1 min 30 seconds in the dry. And both do alot of track days ,- Graham more than me there I suspect.
Sure its not just power, its power delivery, handling and driver aswell, but all the same GTT260 + GTT handling mods + GTT /Porsche brakes + driven well is a formidable weapon .

Well, as my name has been mentioned.....

That Castle Coombe track day was my first track day on Coombe, the others being a couple of sessions on an Action Day the previous two years. If you include those sessions, then I had done a total of 4 track day at the time, including that one.

Road tyres. I imagine your Toyro R888's will make a difference between my totally rubbish budget tyres that are on the car. You yourself said they were popular back in the 90's, so not very good really.

My Eiback lowering springs (which is the worst mod I have ever fitted. Handling it better on stock springs) dont exactly compare with your Bilstein coilovers and camber plates.

So with my JCW 200 car + GTT CAI, GTT 3% crank, GTT Manifold, GRS Intercooler, 1320 cam car with has rolling roaded at 217bhp was 10 seconds slower. (197bhp without the cam)

Shame I didnt get a lap time earlier in the day before I overcooked the brakes, as I was a lot quicker when I knew they werent going to pack in on me.

I think once I get my suspension alligned and R888's installed I should be doing laps much quicker, even with my lack of power and my additional weight compared to the GTT car with Roland driving.

Oh, we could compare the difference between my car and Lees turbo conversion too. There is a write-up here: Lee (2 Much) & Alex (Bhozar) @ Donnington Today - Mini Torque.

On Donnington a few weeks ago, on the straight under the Dunlop bridge Lee was hitting 125mph. I was hitting 118mph, and with a slightly chunky passenger (sorry Paul). Now Lees car is a quick track day weapon. I wonder what Lee would be doing if we swapped engines? That would be my 5th trackday.

I must say I was a little concerned at the state of your disc's Alex.

Anyway looks like they'll be a few stop watches at the Mini Action day in September, looking forward to seeing Roland and a few others there! For me I have nothing to prove

...No camber plates, stock bushes all round. R888's are worth just over 1 second over conventional tyres (did it on our TT ,same day , at CC and swopped from R888's to normal tyres).

Karl said you had F1 heritage, I think he was interested in what you did. Chris who has worked on my car at 1320 previously worked for Cosworth so you could say he has F1 heritage lol. I'd love to be part of a race team, not sure what opportunities there are for a software developer/engineer... I'd imagine the guys working on race car software must be a lot more talented lol

Karl, just to add to Daflake's post commenting on your previous posts to his (as its just got even more laughable) the RR day on the 26th, is not so much a 'day' as a morning really. And as its at Warrington and your based in Manchester its not to far out of your way. I believe that myself and a few others would happily pay the £35 for the RR and the £10-£15 for petrol it would cost to visit.

So there you go free RR session offered to you at an independant garage for you to proove us all wrong

As for Lambo baiting I can imagibe the post now on a Lambo forum...

Quote:
I had another encounter today, a pair in a Mini trying to keep with my Lambo.
However, I was impressed as I was shifting at 5k and they kept with me. I bet there telling all there mates that they can keep with and beat a lambo now ROFLMAO
