I've got you wrong? I have gone to bat for you many times trying to give you the benefit of doubt but you continue to come on here and stir things up with claims that you refuse to back. To be honest, all of your rhetoric and banner waving is getting old. I have also asked you times and or hp figures that you have yet to produce. Having driven a Lambo in the past I am here to inform you that there is no way in hell that you could have done it unless he was toying with you or the car had a problem.

So, it is time for you to produce some viable proof on your claims or you need to back off the claims as it is starting to look like it is posted just to bait other people into arguments.

So exactly where is there a motorway with bends tight enough that you need to slow down from 70mph to take them? If it's a normal motorway and you can't take a 1/2 mile radius corner at 70mph you need your handling sorted mate. Either that or you were both racing at a steady 70mph? Where's the race there?

Erm... Nothing about your story makes sense whatsoever. Maybe it did before you attempted to defend your hypocrisy. And given how much BS you seem to be sprouting I am starting to not to believe anything... I have lost a good friend in the most painful way thanks to people racing on "quiet" A Roads and I also have a wonderfully gifted friend who has lost the use of her legs at the tender age of 17 thanks to speeders on quiet "A Roads" so think twice next time you go out racing other cars.

I will put Karls car on a totally independant RR just prior to the turbo conversion.
The same one that JCW210's produce approx 195bhp on, and the same same day as mine produced 270bhp (240whp) in front of 30 Mini owners (inc Graham GRS) 3 years ago.
And that was just our stage 2 head not the stage 4.
I think you guys are being realy unfair to Karl (again). So what if the Lambo driver wasnt giving it all....its no big deal , guys , hes not come on here and said 'your car is pants and mines so much better'
On a side note we had a GTT260 in a couple of weeks ago that has been fitted over 3 years ago with, its done many trackdays (inc Nurberg). In fact its been so good and trouble free I had forgotten we had done this one.

Does that mean that you expect them to come back with issues? You sound surprised that this one has run without problems? I always thought you had 100% reliability

Wow - for a MINI community, I am shocked at the resentment of any good achievements. In fact, my mate was up here from London today and I told him about this. He just laughed, and said "dude, you should tell them all that if I wasn't in the car and only you were driving it then you'd have probably beat the lambo" - but I thought that although very funny, this may just be too much for the cynics LOL.

Roland - no problem with the RR, happy to do it before and after the Turbo, just out of curiosity really. The car ran really well today - hitting full revs time and time again and such a consistent sensation of torque - my mate was pi55ing his sides laughing!!!

Strange how the atmosphere in here is still a little sour, I thought the moderators had a clear out some months back??

I pop my head in to say hi all, and get this instant resentment. I'm out of here for a while.

Roland, you have my email address if you need to contact me at any time I hope life in sunny Dorset is good as usual i'll still check up on the forum posting for anything of interest to read

Regards (to those who are friendly )

Cheers,
K.

G, i thought you were one of the good guys? I don't have anything to prove either so i guess we have something in common - but it certainly isn't admiration of other MINI owners achievemnts (this is a MINI community website right??) (joke!)

As for the "70mph on a motorway at 2am" comment of mine - it was just an example of the approriateness of driving fast on a public highway. Like i said, i have had friends killed, so i JUST DON'T DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. The lambo experience was actually on a bypass that had a few roundabouts and 1/4 mile and 1/3 mile straights between. This puts it into context as we were obviously not doing 20000000mph LOL. I mean, come on, it's a v10 5 litre for bobs sake!!! If you think that wouldn't beat a MINI over a 5mile stretch of motorway then you'd be as looney as me, apparently

Well, as i said in my earlier post... i'm out of here guys. It's getting boring, again!

Byeeeeeeeeeee.

PS. those that need to contact me, just send me a PM and i'll respond via email

Dude, a lambo exhaust does not make the noise it did on that day feather footing on the throttle lol.

Go and watch them on track and you'll understand what i mean

...now, i said i was off, so i really must go now.

What achievement is that?

GTT280 - No proove so no achievment there.

Beating a Lambo - Again no proof there.

Beating a Lambo on the public highway without actually breaking the speed limit - sorry but this just reminds me of the Renault 5 racing in the Ali G film

ali g ricer race - Video

So what achievement Karl. Sorry but the only resentment created is due to some fanciful posts from yourself. And to think your another person I used to respect and take note of post wise until I found out how wrong they were. As for the clear out of people, think you'll find that the people branded as "bad apples" haven't even posted

I'm not trying to attack you personally or anything silly like that as at the end of the day this is just a forum, but like others you really haven't done yourself any favours with your own posts. You have become your own worst enemy.

The mods did have a clear out but if you look in the pits they are all back on now (apart from 2 temp bans) but as Damo said they have not posted.

Twisting the truth as I have seen a few people ask "where is the 280 conversion as it is not on their website, no they do a 280 turbo conversion but GTT 280 think he has that power with his S/C conversion". They do a 260 one but butt dyno says its 280. Come on you see where we are all coming from.

I am not refusing to backup anything. Please let me know when i have refused. I have said many many times that i will gladly RR my car, and will be before and after my 475bhp mod. Right I'm better with Facts and Figures:

Lamborghini Murcielago (6.2L version as opposed to the later 6.5L version)

Peak Power: 571bhp + Kerb Weight: 1650kg = 346bhp/tonne (or is it ton?)

Source = Lamborghini MurciƩlago - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Now assuming your MINI has 280bhp, it would need to weigh 809kg!

Now being very generous say the weight of your S was 1200kg, that would mean it has 415bhp!

And thats going off the old Lambo not the LP640

Then there is the Gallardo...

Lamborghini Gallardo (again the old one)

Peak Power: 493bhp + Kerb Weight: 1569kg = 314bhp/tonne (or is it ton?)

Again assuming your MINI has 280bhp, it would need to weigh 891kg!

And again being very generous saying the weight of your S is 1200kg, that would mean it has 376bhp!

Sorry but being a figures man, they just don't add up, now you wonder why we question you?

Last edited by Damo : Jul 20th, 2008 at 12:55 AM. Reason: Discovered the earlier Gallardo actually had 493 it was convertible that got 520

If we all met up it would be fine as we all share the same passion, it is not an attack on you personally it is just people saying their thougths on things you have posted.

Your car power wise prob feels the same as mine so I know what is possible and what is not

I can 100% say that I am not jealous of you or your car, as even if your car has 280bhp, and it may have, I would still choose mine. There is only really one car I would almost like more than mine and thats this one:

Plus there is the small fact of the power mine has been proven to produce Vs the actual money I have spent. So defo not jealous of the money you have spent to get the power you've got, and doubt anyone else on here is. In fact the only thing your car has got that I would class as better than mine (bar the power figure it may or may not have) is the suspension (read coilovers as I have the GTT braces) but that will be recitifed before Christmas.

Stick it on a RR yourself (rather than let Roland do it) with other MINI's that have been RR before so you can get an accurate figure. (i.e. if everyone gets low figures then you know its low, or if everyone gets high figures its high)

I RR'd my car with Graham's purely as his car is used as the benchmark as comes out with a similar figure on a regular basis. Hence the RR this coming Saturday that he is attending Its indpendant (in that it normally services Jap cars and my mate Rick aka RedUn uses it)
