Forget all the power figures on Tuners own RR and just count the independant runs and most of the big hitters drop 30bhp. . Not so the GTT cars though:-
Ant FR has a GTT260 and he took it on an independant RR and got exactly 260, so how can you say we dont proove anything. Snowies car independant RR =260bhp ,My car again on independant RR =270&273bhp. Lees car GTT350T =391 bhp on independant RR.
My car (SC & road legal) =1min 20 sec round CC, My car (turbo) 1min 18 sec round CC,
My car 60-130mph 8.9 secs on video. Lees car round Donnington= 1min 20 (iirc)
No we dont expect GTT260 to be unreliable, we just expect it to come in once a year for belt change or service, this car went 3 years with just one (mailorder) belt.
Regarding beating a road legal Lambo, Im fairly confident I could beat one (not just equal it) in my GTT350T around most tracks. Crikey I could beat GT3's in my 1400cc R5 round CC.
Alski ..When are you going to put your car on an independant RR ?

Roland,

My point is pretty simple. If you are going to come here boasting figures, you had better to be ready to field the questions and prove it. I find it interesting how you think it is "unfair" that others are questioning Karl and you but then you turn right around and question another tuner on their figures...

Tuners have their own forums and can plug numbers there all they want. This section is for the users to discuss BHP/WHP and help debunk what does and doesn't work. It is also a great forum for troubleshooting. Look at it like a locker room.... If you come in here talking smack, expect to get called on it.

I have no problems with Karl coming on here making claims but you guys need to develop some thicker skin and expect that you are going to get hit with questions. You are not the end all of tuners. I have no doubt that what you do does increase in power but to make a claim that yours is the best when there has been no independent study done is only banner waving. Not every thread has to be an advertisement for you!

In my eyes, the saints of tuners are the ones that have not dove in here head first accusing people of being unfair. Time for a reality check folks.

Lastly, I want to make sure that all the users here know that they need to keep it real and calm. Just because it is getting heated does not mean that we can't be respectful of each other. This thread has clearly turned into a baiting thread so be smart and don't fall for it.

RR ?

Maybe you should read some posts before posting yourself or your maths are not very good

I went to 1320s RR and my car produced 274bhp when everything was nice and cool (Chris does not use this figure as it was the first run), and once everything got hot after back to back dyno runs the outcome was that my car was consistently hitting 266/267bhp and 230WHP.

I then go to SRR which you yourself class as an Independent RR as one of your stage 4 headed cars hit 260 there and I make 269.5bhp and 215 lbs/ft with a lot high ambient temp. So to say they lose 30bhp is utter ****!!

I then got to Santa Pod and run a 13.9@102.74 entering stage with 40+DegC IATs (And no I am not an expert at launching the car on the strip) and if you calc the bhp from that it comes out at 267/268bhp. So in conclusion from that it looks like 1320's dyno is pretty much spot on.

That is why I class my car as a 270bhp car because it is in the middle of my dyno figures and near as dam it to the calculated power.

If I fitted a GRS I/C I would dyno at around 276ish bhp and then if I fit a milltek exhaust I would dyno at 286ish bhp so Bigshows figures at 282/286ish bhp are about right. The only other difference in mine and his car is 15% and 17% pulley

All the above is not having an attack on anyone, it is facts

A few months after having my milltek fitted to my GTT210 I had a wierd rattling on my car, It would happen when I pulled away from a junction without many revs. I was convinced it was the exhaust rattling against the back bumper but it wasn't!

Still with the problem I took my GTT210 to roland to check for pinking and to collect a OCC. Roland took the car out for me and also commented "it feels like a very good GTT210". Now I didn't in any way put the rattling down to the GTT210 convesion as I was still sure it was something to do with the exhaust.

I took the car to 1320 a few weeks later for a full checkup and a rolling road. The car came out at 192bhp which is 60% of the 50bhp increase the GTT210 should be.

I was pretty suprised Roland didnt spot that my conversion was 40% less power than it should be on his butt dyno.

We didn't get time to sort the problem out as 1320 had another customer booked in, and I had only booked my car in for a quick checkup and RR. I was due to visit again, but instead split my MCS and sold the exhaust to a friend. He took the his car with my milltek to 1320 where it killed his car's power too! It was found out that the baffles had come loose in side the exhaust!

Anyway in short, I was pretty upset that Roland was happy with my car when it blatently wasn't running the power it should have been (yes I know its not down to the conversion, but Roland should have spotted this whilst "butt dynoing" my car!)

This is why I'm going to take my next MCS to 1320, I can get a before bhp figure, an after bhp figure and all at a fraction of the price.

Reminds me of a quote of a certain someone of alleged ill repute...

Seems like people are still waiting for it in some instances

The reason that I don't like it is that it is a bit rude, that is all. We just asked Jove to change it as it was coming across a bit aggressive and I (and others) were trying to calm things a bit.

True, but that aggression was a result of Joves disapointment with his car. He's still very touchy about it... I have a feeling if I asked about his previous dyno figures I'd soon be shouting "Not the face, not the face!!! Noooooooo"

I understand but when you have a forum that is going up in flames, everyone gets the hose.

The idea was to calm it all down to a dull roar. We admitted that the bans were over the top, but we were at our wits end with it all. I think that we have a good grasp on what is happening now and hopefully things will even out for the better.

(just had a quick check on this forum and think i should just post the following note)

I am only a customer of GTT, i have absolutely nothing to do with the company. If i want to act like a pr4t then that is my choice. IT HAS NO REFLECTION ON ROLAND OR GTT !!!!!

My banner/signature is my own work and i could put any number on there i want to. I think 280 is a fair guestimate seeing as 273bhp was achived on a slightly lesser spec MINI a few years ago. Anyway - nuff is enuff.

Cheers,
K.

But your boasting a BHP figure that isn't even proven, why not takes it to a RR, you've even been offered to have the RR and fuel costs paid for!
