Maybe if my physics tutor at college had let me guess all the power calculations I might not have failed

Fair comment - i appreciate that adding/replacing more components doesn't necessarily result in more bhp.

What particular example can you provide where your power did not gain as expected from the parts you fitted?

Cheers,
K.

As for engine components I have the same spec as you had (I appreciate you now have the Stage 4) - the only differences being:

1. Janspeed Head (Me) - GTT Stage 2 Head (You)
2. GRS Intercooler (Me) - GTT Intercooler (You)
3. Lohen Enlarged TB (Me) - GTT Enlarged TB (You)

I would have expected 250 / 255bhp, allowing for a small decrease to my head not being same spec as GTT, I only achieved 237 / 238ish. So my point is that the mods don't always add up your numbers - sometimes they can deduct too.

I have no doubt that you are probably pushing in excess of 260bhp but at this power would you realise you have added another 5 - 10 - 15 bhp or is it a placebo effect? (That is a statement rather than a question to you or about your integrity...... )

Do you have the exedy lightweight flywheel and clutch, quaiffe diff, and lightweight O.Z.Supperlegerras ? These help in getting the power down, and also removing that inertia - results = more responsive acceleration and braking too :-))

I've got the AFPR fitted and also a full set of J.E. Forged pistons which should have a little bonus on reponseiveness due to being lighter.

My rev limit is 7,500 too. not sure if the liverwire leads and coil are standard to the gtt260? they might be.

On track, all ther other stuff i have such as PSS's BBK, stripped interior, removal of aircon, all 4 struts etc. etc. all help.

cheers,
K.

So will a date time and location be announced so that there can be independant adudicator? (apologies for spelling ) That way no one can claim anything silly like race fuel or octane booster was added (something you've stated you would add for a RR session in the past).

I'm sure neither 1320, BigShow and Alski to name a few aren't either but things were still doubted so you can surely appreciate the need for the question

However filming can be edited all the same, hence the need for someone indpendant being there

I was opposing your point of view of simply guessing you have a 280hp conversion, yes it would be nice if things were that simple but my post was a very clear way of showing it isn't. The only reason why people get fed up is they come on here to get cold hard facts about where to best spend their money. If I wanted to hear about people beating lambos and power guesstimates I'd go down the pub and talk to the bloke who has a 10" exhaust strapped to his 15 year old subaru.

Don't expect us to believe your car can drag a lambo even if the figures work out for you.

It would be nice to work out the cost/power ratio of your conversion though...

I know theres a lot more on your list but just counting the big things....

GTT 260+ package is £5750 inc VAT fitted (?)
GTT Stage 4 head £1526 inc VAT (+ fitting?)

So ignoring you may have spent a bit more on fitting by going for the 240 kit first and trading up thats £7276 right?

You started with a JCW 210, lets be fair and say it was probably 190bhp... thats £7276 for a guesstimated extra 90bhp? I honestly can't see why you wouldn't want to know the figures after shelling out £80 per bhp??

The biggest tuning mistake you can make, is to guess how much power your car has, based upon how someone elses car performed with the same parts on .

You've had the GTT 260 kit fitted. What parts have you got on top of this ?, and why should they have added another 20 hp.

That is sound serious money for a 260+bhp car. Makes my 270+bhp car a true bargain for £2800-£3000!

Why don't you all agree a date and time and have it done together, then everyone could really see who's who in the **** swinging stakes

Is that not surely the most simple thing to do?

Blimey I reckon you could even sell tickets for such an event
