Well, I eat my words, that sounds very reasonable, a lot less than I have paid for previous VW’s/Audi’s.

I pulled the filter out my 32k '05 MC and as suspected, it was totally black, so I replaced it with a Pipercross one. Made a noticeable difference, but then just a clean, new filter probably would have too! It does add a nice bit of induction roar though, if you like that sort of thing....

Wouldn't say no to some more noise.... but would prefer an increase in economy to be honest!
