GTT snoot boots with GRS Intercooler

Trying to fit GTT snoot boots to my GRS intercooler, but they are just too wide and stiff to fit.

They just dont bend like the stock bellow style snoot boots.

Short of taking the intercooler horn off on one side or cutting a bit off the snoot boots I cant get them fitted, even with two people helping.

Has anyone got these fitted with a GRS intercooler successfully, and if so, HELP......

I'm guessing the GRS is slightly wider than its GTT counterpart as well as the stock intercooler?

Try placing them in very hot water this should make them a bit more pliable....

Looking at engine bay from front of car im fitting the rhs boot (smaller boot) onto the horn of the cooler and the horn of the engine. Then im putting the lhs boot on the cooler horn and pulling the boots onto the cooler as much as possible, before trying to squeeze the boot over the lhs engine horn.

This is all without clamps fitted and the boots well over the welds of the GRS intercooler.

Also tried putting the bigger boot onto the car first then pushing the cooler down into it, even tried putting the lhs together first. Closest ive got to getting it on is the first method tho.

The stock boots are easy to fit but they do flex much more and then arent as wide as the GTT ones.

Aye but your good if you can fit both sides at once, you got 4 arms? lol Ive tried that too, still too tight, then softening them will help tho.

I was going per the grs instructions and the way i found easiest with the stock boots.

Peter I have the same problem trying to fit the silicon intercooler couplers to my forge intercooler.
I gave up in the end

I like the sound of placing them in hot water, I'll give that a go

I found that the GTT snoot boots were a very tight fit when I put them on my DFIC. I was having problems putting them on and didn't think that they would fit.
I read on NAM that some guys put the ALTA intercooler boots in hot water and it helped putting them on. I tried this with the GTT boots and it helped heaps.

Hot water from a kettle. Let them soak, fish them out and get them on there before they cool.

hot water did it for me, if you add some washing up soap to the casting and intercooler this will help with fitting. dont apply too much. they do fit though just need some working

They're a nightmare trying to get them onto a standard intercooler! I lost hair, skin, bone and blood!

I got them on by putting the snoot boots onto the intercooler 1st them fitting the right one 1st and forcing the left hand one on with 2 screw drivers being careful not to rip them!

I always fit the left, larger one over the horn and slide over the horn lip.

Then fit the smaller right on on the intercooler , then slot it on the right horn.

Lower the left and then slide the larger boot off the horn body onto the intercooler.

fit all clamps with grease at the front and back to stop the clamps cutting the boots and hey job done.
