I just installed my Borla exhaust on my Cooper and it sounds really nice. At first I feared the rice sound, but fortunately, I got more base than the standard rice burner. As for speed increase, it is hard to tell. It seems to have added more top end than my induction kit, which added more low end acceleration. Overall, easy to install and very happy.

I have the pipercross viper carbon fiber induction kit and I did not really notice any tone change as much as I did the improved acceleration off the line. The Borla exhaust on the other hand, sounds like a racer if I ever heard one. Not my normal MO ,giving away what I have under the hood, but it sounds so good, why hide it?

Any problem with noise inside the cabin? Any booming or reverberation at cruising speeds?

The only time I get any sort of noise in the cabin is when I am accelerating hard. During cruising, there is no noticable increase in noise.

I went directly to Borla and they shipped it fast and it was cheaper than anywhere else I could find. The price for 6 somehting for the S is dirt cheap and if it is real....go for it!

how loud is the Borla exhaust???? What is the sound like on a long trip??? Any power increase, did you have your MINI dyno'd before or after the install???

Min Cpr - do you have any pictures of the PiperCross Viper kit installed? where did you get it and approx cost please???

Sound is very pleasant. Nice and mellow at idle, a little noisy under full throttle especially above 5k rpm. At cruising speeds between 55 and 75 in 5th gear, you just hear a nice mellow exhaust note. It sounds very much like my MGB did many years ago.
