TLC against mods

If I start adding some extras to my car nothing major will this effect my TLC servicing?Obviously if I change bits that are covered within the service this will cause issues but what about stuff that isn't covered?

Depends, what are you planning on adding? Some places will void your warranty with any mods done to the engine.

Hi mate,

I have various mods and my neither of the two dealers have ever mentioned any issues. I have had warranty work done as well as servicing under XLTLC. I did drop one of them a line to check first and the service manager was fine with it. Just remember, if they dont service your car/do warranty work then they are doing themselves out of business. Its in their interest to turn a blind eye and get on with it.

TLC is just servicing of the car, as long as you don't expect them to service any mods or the mods don't stop them doing their job then there should be no issues

But don't go putting an uprated air filter on and expect them to service that

I had my Inspection 1 or whatever it's called recently (the 30,000 mile service). The dealer had no problem with it - I told them I'd done some mods to the car and please could they not change the spark plugs. All on TLC, car came back fine...

According to the TLC terms you cannot do ANYTHING and still have the TLC service.

But dealers don't tend to enforce the small print.

Its in the dealers best interest to not enforce it

Cant say I have ever had a problem and they have even written on the check list what they havent changed due to unstock parts like the airfilter.
