Will New MCS's Need the 3.1 Fix?

I have read many posts on MIni2 about owners having their ECU upgraded to "3.1" to eliminate the cold start problem and the low-end lag.

My question is:

Will newly produced Mini Cooper S models automatically be produced with this new program, or will it continue to be an optional upgrade that owners choose to do?

yeah, I'm feeling like gasoline may no longer be the prevalent auto fuel by the time mine is built!

Ok, since we share taste in colors, let me ask you something else. What are Magnacore wires, and what do they do for your Mini? (I figure a NASA engineer may know something about this that I don't)

TomD, thanks for the link. I'm reading the Magnecor info with great interest. I never knew that ignition wires could make this kind of a difference.

they don't

I have put these wire in my truck, and they make NO difference, MAYBE they help it idle a little better and improve timing but they have done nothing for speed, ect.

Components like the Magnecor wires won't add any power to your MCS. They will only ensure that you are getting all the power the engine can produce.

Basically, if your ignition system is in good shape, the wires will do nothing for you, but if your ignition system is crap and you're losing power because of it, the wires will restore the power that the engine is capable of making.
