Offline | So Quicksilver has 200 hp too . I'm curious, It won't be long until I meet them again at gvl's. Did she install the Remus exhaust yet? I saw in the pics from Essen last weekend she has already installed the US front arches. And I saw Jos from Den Bosch in the pics too. Looks like he has installed the black front grill from the aero pack. M ![]() |

Offline | @ Macmini2 Very cool video and awesome sound! Looking for an upgrade myself. What exactly does the Rumphorst upgrade involve (can't be just a remap of the ECU) and do they give any warranty on the engine and drive train? How much did the upgrade cost you (incl. VAT and fitting)? Cheers |

| life in orange | chipped s aloha @ all i'm the proud owner of this chipped s and i can tell you: i'm absolutely delighted . imagine: whilst recording the video & sound file my trunk was filled up with my summer s-spokes, the original springs, my travel luggage and my tenderly 100kg body ;-)! even then the impressions of the power-increase were superb... i had so much fun on my 430km trip home!!! until now i could not check out the max. top speed: because of the traffic i had to step on the brakes at 230 kph (and the car was still accelerating). the 6th gear is definitely a drive-gear now!the torque increase at every rev is sensational... you're no "obsatcle" at low revs anymore! at the moment i don't know the possible maximum rev - the highest shift rev was 7.200 until now... but it's not the end!!!! by the way: i can recommendate the eibach springs! the car is coming roundabout 35mm to the ground and is less "bumpy" on the front axle - a real good decision (proud of my own - ouuh, that stinks )and it looks great!all works were done at http://www.bmw-rumphorst.de/mini2.html a very good decision! enough for now - i have to ride my mcs!!!!! have fun & ride free bigagsl |

Offline | Re: chipped s Hi bigagsl, You sound very pleased with the result of your modification ![]() May I ask: what changes were made to your Cooper S? I know that the engine management chip would have been changed, but have you had any other changes done, eg air intake, exhaust, engine manifolds, engine head? |

| life in orange | @ bad manners at the moment we are talking only about a modification of the engine management! no mechanical changes have been done. the effect of a change from the compressor ratio is - to my opinion - not worth it (compare to >digi-tec< or >kelleners<). i'm still thinking about the bmp or pipercross intake for the mcs, even if i am not quite sure about the promised power-increase - but the sound counts exhaust? at the moment i can't find a system at the aftermarket which pleases me just for your info: a few months ago we were discussing in our german forum about an added water cooling system for the compressor-cooling-system of the mcs. i had the idea of fixing the mitsubishi lancer evo VI or lancia integrale system to the mcs. after collecting many informations and talking to owners of these cars i came to the result: i only have an increase of LIME caused by the water!have fun & ride free big-chipped-agsl |

Offline | 200 HP from just a remap of the ECU seems a bit on the high side to me, taking into account that as far as I know all other tuners (w/u Hamann, Hartge, Digi-tec, Kelleners, SKN and Maxi-Tuner) needed to change the transmission ratio of the supercharger to get 200 HP. So how sure are you about the claimed 200 HP of Rumphorst, did you see any dyno results? Does Rumphorst give any form of warranty on the modification and what is the price of the modification? Thanks |

| life in orange | @qqq sorry, there are no dyno results! but even when i have less then 200hp it is more then enough i'm not quite sure if all of your listed tuners are really changing the compressor (or more exactly SUPERCHARGER - thx) transmission ratio? i'm going to ask that in our german forum and tonight i'm reading the reports in the german car magazines again! about the warrenty: rumphorst is an offical bmw-dealer and he gives you the dealer warrenty - additional you can effect two different kind of complementary insurances. further details should be given by macmini2 (hey mac - please do that for qqq!). at the moment i abandon this option because of the my personal contact to rumphorst! have fun & ride free bigagsl |

Offline | They havn't , they told me that they were not happy with the power increase by just chipping , hence the work with Grahame Goode Racing. I DO NOT believe these quoted figures for 200 bhp just from chipping alone on the post's above , either the dyno has been doctored, or the engine altered in other ways.......... ![]() Cooper S,200Bhp+ Graham Goode Racing/Superchip Conversion, MagnaFlow Exhaust,British Racing Green,White Roof,Chilli Pack ,Gravity Full Leather, 17" S Spoke Alloys,Multi-Function Strg Wheel,Elec. | MINI2 Newbie | Here's the dif Hey guys! Just noticed the debate on whether or not this Autohaus managed to increase the output of the MCS to 200HP. My german's pretty bad but I poped the page into a web translator and caught some interesting clues... The site promises an increase of 30Nm. Newton-meters are the metric equivalent to ft-lbs, i.e. torque. 30 Nm of torque is roughly equivalent to 22 ft-lbs. According to our lovely spec sheets available here at Mini2, the MCS rolls off the lot with 155 ft-lbs of torque. This new uber-Mini should show up around 177 ft-lbs. I'll let the math and physics majors handle the rest of the calculations, but I doubt that an increase of 22 ft-lbs wil translate to 40 HP. That make sense? -------------------------------- Mini Cooper S, BRG/B, Sports Package and Sunroof |
