LOL Dude!

Maybe you should read more closely next time or have a better understanding of certain systems.

I said:

"I've also seen setups similar to the Aquamist, which use propane."

Aquamist is a setup that injects water DIRECTLY into the the intake charge pipe. As the water is injected and travels through the air intake system, the water absorbs heat and therefore lowers the temp of the intake charge.. The setups with propane I was speaking of are much like the aquamist. They DO NOT spray propane on the intercooler, propane is injected INSIDE the intake system, which makes it much like a aquamist system, gasp. Sort of like a nitrous setup also, except the propane injected is only their for the purpose of cooling the air temp and not accelerating the combustion.

Water injection does not lower intake temps unless the water is colder than your intake. This is compleatly meaningless no matter what you read on some website.

Water injection works in an entirely different way. The concept behind it is called "latent heat of vaporization." The water is finely misted into the intake charge and then its vaporized in the combustion chamber. Vaporization requires a lot of energy (At constant temp) so the heat is absorbed into the phase change.

Nitrous does not "accelerate combustion". Nitrous cools by thermal expansion, adds oxygen to the combustion chamber, and provides a buffer in the CC.

Propane cools by thermal expansiona and adds FUEL to the combustion chamber.

isn't nos injected in the liquid phase as well, gaining the latent heat of vaporization advantage as it turns to gas in the intake manifold?

btw, I ordered a shelf like yours!

Yes but its alot easier to boil nitrous than water.

Latent Heat of Vaporization
NO2 - 89.9 cal/g @ -129°F
Water - 540 cal/g @ 100°C

Also note that one is before combustion and one is during.

The shelf is great, huh?

Yeah, I'm aware of how water injection works as well as how nitrous oxide breaks down when it reaches 527F, nitrogen buffers, etc. I was using the aquamist system to illustrate how the propane is injected in gasoline forced inducted setups. So that people wouldn't get confused and think I was saying spray propane on the intercooler. Propane also has a high octane rating of 110+, combine that with -60F temps as it leaves the bottle, makes it a very potent setup.
