Break-in Before Upgrade??

Is it advantageous to complete your break in before being fitted with an upgrade (the Works package)? Or is it better to get the MCS new with the Works package in place from day one?

Part of quandry is due to the fact that I can buy the car at list on the East Coast (relatives/old stomping grounds), thus saving the $695 over list price being charged by my local dealer. Would pay for my trip back and allow me to do some visiting. Both dealers seem to be top notch to me. Trip would also allow me to do the run-in on the car, while driving mostly back roads on the trip back West. I know I would be piling on 3,000 miles, but that seems to be a positive to me. Let's motor.

I definitely would want to have the Works upgrade done locally. Have time, since expected delivery date is June/July.

Appreciate your thoughts.

Well, I'm getting my JCW Works S direct from JCW in East Preston. I really wanted to have the car direct from JCW, rather than have a dealer upgrade at a later stage.

I really don't think it makes much difference in terms of breaking in. If you get it from new you have to do 1200miles. I you get it 3000 miles down the line, I would guess you would have to do a reasonable amount of break in mileage again.

Cheers

Michael
