Something's not necessarily Awry, its just not good. I'm sure Getrag has a safety factor within that, but it does seem funny. Especially with the other transaxels in that series being rated so much higher.

Some company should get to making a higher rated transmission, or everyone should start hoping Getrag has a very high safety factor. Very nice link though, thanks for the info.

I hope the mod shops are going to cover it under warranty.

Are the other transaxles at that site rated above the torque ratings for the vehicles listed? I mean, perhaps the site just lists the torque rating for the highest torque vehicle using it.

What is the focus's torque?

The german text for the torque measurement, turns out to be:

Appoximate value (dependent on motor vehicle type, vehicle specifications and operating conditions)

I think it's just listing the specs of the car, and not the limit. At least that's my hope!
