Talking Playmini slash cut exhaust

The playmini exhaust I ordered six weeks ago was finally fitted to my car...

It's fantastic... I went for the 3.5" slash cut option with the centre box removed. The sound is awesome, purrs like a kitten and growls like a beast!

I'll take some photos later on tonight, but for £200, this exhaust is great

Fitting was easy (was fitted by a Honda garage, of all places), and I noticed the new exhaust is a lot lighter than the old one.

As for performance gains... well, none noticeable, but I tested it on a dual carraigeway going uphill slightly where I used to only manage 110mph in either 4th or 5th gear. I can now go past 115mph before I run out of road. This is probably down to no longer having a centre box and the exhaust being a little lighter.

In summary...

It's great

Dom

Glad to here it has finaly arrived Dom, great pipes aren't they. Have you notticed that the sound gets better once the engine has warmed up to normal operating teperature and the growl at around 4000 rpm is just awsome with the induction kit fitted, I also think it looks better than the TT style.
I always said that 120mph was possible in a one.

Glad to here that you are happy with the pipe.

Cheers Richard

Yeah, it definitely improves once everything has warmed up... the sound of the low revs (<3000rpm) even makes traffic jams enjoyable...

The design has changed a little now - the back box is now polished () and I think the slash is more angled to shape with the bumper...

And it gurgles and pops nicely on the overrun!

I wouldn't know about trafic jams we don't have enough cars up here for them .
The burble and poping on overrun is awsome I also find myself bliping the throtle when changing down the gears .
I also noticed that the playmini pipe was lighter than the standard one.

Zorst

At last, I think I have decided. I am going to go for the play mini exhaust with the slash cut.
Do you know if the wait is still 6weeks, and where is the best place to get it from?
Thanks a lot
Luke

Good work Dom, you'll have to let me have a go Or at least a ride to see how noisy it is...

Always be wary of someone asking for a ride

Doesn't quite show the polishedness it all its glory, but you can see the reflection of the stones... trick is - keeping it clean!

I'll try and get some sound recordings from it tonight... failing that, I'll be at the west mids meet on Saturday, and the South West meet on 8th December
