Offline | Looking for a serious solution to cooling your intercooler? Check this out fellows! ![]() The optional "street version", it has an adjustable pressure sensor based on boost to spray water. Offline | Here's another one, I saw it installed on a turbo Cooper but it could be used on the S as well. The controller is adjustable when driving. Aquamist www.aquamist.co.uk |

Offline | The temp here is -20C and I don't see any 50 hp boost due to the cooler denser air. It might help in the midst of a 100C day but my guess is that it would just get to back to 'normal' given the smarts in the engine management system aka KWKSLVR Member: Southern Ontario MINI Club BMW Club of Canada - Trillium Chapter |

Offline | Actually we make a diverter for the "S" intercooler that has a built in water sprayer. See what you think. http://www.altaminiperformance.com/p...icdiverter.htm |

Offline | I'm in SoCal and the usual hi temp means significant power losses. I really notice it in my 88M3 and it would be more severe in a supercharged setting. I think when my S arrives this mo. the diverter and water spray will be the second mod - after intake. It looks like a terriffic mod for freeing horsepower and keeping engine cool. |

Offline | Dave, the splitter comes with the nozzle we make, and hose. As for a pump, we have a pump availible, but when we finish our seperate tank and electronic controll, then we will include the pump. Right now, the system uses the rear washer pump/reservoir and the factory switch. |

Offline | Dave, yes, when you hit the rear washer it sprays the intercooler with what ever you have in your washer tank. So you have the chioce, we will be including a tee with the kit so when you activate the pump, it will still wash the rear window. We should be shipping them next week with the kit standard kit, but as for the electronics and pump, that might be a couple of months or so. |

Offline | Alta, Please address this question. The ECU is very darn smart. This system unless you have constant change will not adjust to conditions such as water spray. I know for a fact that if you even put a bottle of octane once and a while you will not really notice the difference. You have to feed it to the car all the time to see the improvments. I got my ECU flashed last week and the car drove like a pig for about 30 minutes until it knew what I was doing. I drove the car like I stole it then shut it down, and **** about 30hp appeared from no where. I wish this was as simple as a WRX or Mitsu but its not. |

| I am Jacks wasted life | i dont know about all that, im not all up on the technicalities but the highest dyno score on a stock S was one that had the cooler iced before the run, and when u take ya car out on a cold nite it doesnt take 30 minutes to pick up the difference between hot day and cold nite its instant.. so to my mind cooler air would make an immediate difference, what im not sure of is how effective this system would be.. but im sure it could make some measurable difference, albeit small |

Offline | I guess it was late and I really did not make that clear. All I am saying is that the only hp you will gain out of this is if you are heat soaked and you lost power. You will never gain positive power over what it was when it was cold. Now if this were water injection it may be a different story. This is just a theroy, this Seimens system is really sort of a pain. I have ordered one of these systems from Alta to test it along with the 3 temp sensors. |

| MINI2 Senior Derelict | There is an interesting thread around the same idea going on over at MINI Cooper Online. Someone had a Nitrous system that they've setup to spray the intercooler with CO2 so it really super chills the intercooler waaaaay down. He can't do "hot day" tests because it's winter. The thread also discusses the posibility of CO2 getting into the air intake as a possible negative side effect. Interesting reading. Paul |
