Offline | 0-60 5.9 - 6.3 secs (depends on grip.) 0-100 16.1 secs Top speed 141mph Is this the true specs of the Hartage upgrade? If this is correct it is still not as fast as the base WRX. Not sure about the 0-100 but the quarter mile is 14.7 at 93MHP I cant believe it take almost two more full seconds to get 8 more MPH. They are really apples and oranges. Both impressive in there own right. Now if we can get over the 250HP mark I will give in on the base wrx being slower. Then though you are compairing a supermodified car with a stock one. Like I wish that my mini could ware my alias in its name plate but it wont ever happen. 911ETR. |

Offline | Dec. 2002 Motor Trend: "MCS, 0-60 = 7.1, 0-1/4m = 15.3@91.8, Slalom, mph = 68.2" "WRX, 0-60 = 5.6, 0-1/4m = 14.2@94.4, Slalom, mph = 61.4" Make sure that you are rolling, (say 20+ mph) and look for twisty roads. There is more to life than 0-60. We have a wonderful car, we just need to learn how and where to choose our battles. ![]() ![]() ![]() Regards, Ric (MOTOR'N) |

Offline | The only thing i have to say is how often are Impreza WRX`s left standard. If you look in the auto trader for one you dont often see any that are standard so in my opinion youve got no chance with an Impreza no matter what But as you say the MCS is a great car in its own right so just enjoy it as it is![]() |

Offline | MINI RULES THE ROAD Get yourself a MCS on a warm summers day on a good twisty A road. Get the 200bhp mod for your mcs. Now put it up against an equivalent value Scooby and see what you get. I can’t see a Scooby sticking to the road like a MCS round the twistys. OUT COME= MCS wins I don’t care about 1/4 mile and straight lines, that does really mater in U.K, there aren’t any straight A roads any way. I have raced people in my cooper and they have blown me away in a straight line but then as soon as I get to roundabouts or tight corners I am all over them, then slip it up the inside. BOOOOOM MINI WINS THE DAY AGAIN ![]() X Cooper Trooper http://www.mini2.com/gallery/personal/index.php?gallery=sengy |

Offline | Sengy your forgeting one thing the scooby has 4WD mate, Yeah the mini is brilliant in the bends but 4WD takes this to another level, why are all the group A rally cars 4WD, cause they have levels of grip front wheel drive cant match ![]() |

Offline | ???????????????? I don't really care what you guys argue about, the facts, read it again, the FACTS speak for themselves and Rasp was quite correct in what i was trying to say. Namely, that my Hartge converted 212 BHP MCS will beat a standard imprezza from 0 - 100 mph. I don't give two monkeys what you guys think, i don't suppose you have an imprezza in your garage that you drag regularly. Forget the twisties and the 4 wheel drive and the non standard scooby's available. I'm reading right off the makers charts. My MCS will travel to 100 mph quicker than a standard imprezza. If anyone doubts that then look up the makers specs, i did, now of course unless someone is feeling a little bit glum cause their super scooby car can be beat by a little old mini then, well let the arguments continue. alan fae bonnie scotland ![]() |

Offline | Bonnie Scotland, You could be right about the Hartge vs stock wrx but really sort of silly. A modified car against a stock car. Not compairing Honda with MCS but!! Its like saying I stuck 10k in a Honda Accord and it will take a stock Porsche 911 in quarter mile. For what the WRX costs its pretty impressive but again as someone pointed out to me last night, too bad it looks like a dukie! Bonnie we love our MCS and would not trade it for even a super modified WRX.... But a 22b maybe hahahah. BTW for our web site www.mcshp.org where are you getting your Hartage numbers. 0-60, 0-100 etc.. Can you please point me to a source? THanks Bonnie! Cheers |

Offline | That's My Point Maybe it is a silly thing to say, but, a stock MCS versus a stock WRX can only leave one winner. So, in order to beat a WRX a modded MCS is the only way. Don't know what that means! See this website:- http://www.birds.uk.com/MINI/pdfs/R50%2010.pdf I'm not trying to be any better than anyone else and will not be drawn into a wee boy's race on the open road, i only quoted facts, one small mistake Rasp made was that the top speed for the Hartge MINI is 144 mph (not 141 mph) Like others, 0 - 60's and fastest 1/4 miles mean nowt to me, just quoted a fact that my MCS will beat a standard WRX, granted there are not many around as they are mostly modded too. Other cars that my car will beat though:- Fiat Punto Seat Cordoba Jeep Smart Car Peugeot, 206, 306, 307 Plus many many others, i picked on the scooby cause it would cause the most comotion. Thanks all and good night alan fae bonnie scotland ![]() |

| Addict | 911ETR, already got that on the site As for the WRX, you're forgetting one very important thing. It looks like complete crap. Sure, faster in a straight line, maybe better on the skidpad, but certainly not through the slalom, which to me represents real world driving. Point is, i can get my MCS to similar, if not better, performance for less than a stock WRX. The MCS will never be as fast as a fully-modded WRX, but i dont really care. I like my MCS thank you very much! Whatever. |

Offline | At Last Well we at last seem to have gotten somewhere with my point. To all those other cars including the EVO, very nice, very quick, but, lol, honestly those cars are tops and will remain so, in their class they are unbeatable. Pity i didn't have one. alan fae bonnie scotland ![]() |
