invalidated TLC/ Warranty?

can i ask a really quick question??

In the UK,..does fitting an aftermarket filter/ exhaust,...even a JCW combo, invalidate your TLC and or your manufacturers warranty??

and, would there be a difference if your local dealer did the fitting, instead of doing it yourself?

got a while to wait,...but id love a JCW filter/ HKS exhaust combo,..but not at the expense of invalidation...

You'd invalidate the warranty on the bits you replace (although JCW keeps the warranty).

TLC is only voided by engine mods.

I've got an induction kit and exhaust and my TLC is intact, or at least I hope it is!!

It would nice to get a straight answer about TLC and mods... I've heard various opinions on here.

I have the JCW induction kit fitted, and am not sure whether I'll end up paying for my next service or not...

At the end of the day, TLC is just the first 3 services free anyway, isnt it?

Grassicks BMW in Perth recently carried out the 1st service @ 8500 miles - i left the Pipercross Induction kit and the HKS exhaust on. The mechanic spoke with the warranties lady, but i think this was because they had not seen the mods before.
Car serviced, book stamped, no issues - (plus the sales manager gave the mechanic a slap for going to to the warranties woman )

i aggree that you are likely to void the warranty on the air box and exhaust, but since they are in the garage at home, that is hardly going to be an issue!!

I'm Ok

I had the Hartge 212 engine conversion done and my warranty is intact.

Be brave and tell your dealer what you are doing, you may be surprised as i was.

Anthony,
It sounds lubly!!! the induction kit makes it snort wonderfully above 4K rpm, and the exhaust crackles and pops on the overrun in 1st and 2nd. - sounds excellent.

I hope to be on the run in december, if you make it you can hear it - otherwise, we can get together after somewhere in between.

I bought it from Zoooom in bonnie abedseen you had better aks him where he bought it from, i'm most impresssed with it tho, its lovely.

I have had the Hartge upgrade and to be quiet honest couldnt give a monkeys right ******* about the waranty I have got a car now that I think has got awsome performance all for a fraction of the price of any other upgrade on the market, you either want waranty or you dont if you do then spend £ 3500.00 for it, in my view theres enough said about waranty on this forum, as someone posted before you can lose your waranty simply by changing your head unit, so come on guys get out there, get some horses, stuff the waranty.
