Following our story two weeks ago about the John Cooper Works MINI Cooper S, there's news of two other companies boosting the car's output. Falkland Performance Centre (01592 773677) has tuned the MINI One into a Cooper-rivalling 130 bhp machine at a cost of £595, while £1,500 of modifications by Hartge (www.birds.uk.com) have given the Cooper S 200 bhp.

In order to chip the ONE to 130 bhp it costs £500 from super chips, I am not aware of any other company doing this modification.

I meant £600. £600/£160 what's the difference?!

to be precise it is SCOTLANDS SUPERCHIPS and is where i got my car done and yes their car is 130BHP and i know this as i have driven it around glenrothes and is a great car, same BHP as mine! They added a manifold and new camshaft and got 8 BHP more out the manifold but haven`t yet heard about the camshaft! peace!

sorry forgot, 30BHP upgrade is £511.86 exactly, that`s including VAT and fitting!
