Offline | Has anybody installed the HKS intake kit for the Cooper? It is available from Graham Goode Racing: http://www.grahamgoode.com/mini/prod...no=70004-EE001 Thoughts? ![]() ________________________ 02 MC, IB/W, Aero kit, Supersprint exhaust 93 VW Corrado VR6 - For Sale! 88 BMW M3 |

| MINI2 Regular | I haven't heard anything about that one, personally. But looking at all the Cold Air Intake Solutions the thing that keeps coming up is that NONE of them are positioned for intake from some un-obstructed airflow.... So what we need to do is get a MCS hood ( bonnet) on the Cooper and get some good old fashion Ram-Air action going ! Any MCS's that want to sell their Hood and buy a Carbon fiber version , I'd be interested in the MCS hood - In Liquid Yellow of course... Liquid Yellow Cooper |

Offline | I have tried the HKS. It feels 'flatter' than K&N or Pipercross but it sounds awesome. Kind of like a Subaru Impreza at low revs and an incredably loud howl at high revs. 7/10 I would say. mini-design.com |

Offline | Thanks for the info Jon. DEye: I agree that the ram air from the hood scoop would be great but might be difficult plumbing wise (right on top of the engine). Has anybody seen any heat shields for the MC with an induction kit? Combining the taping of the 4 hood holes (see other thread) with some proper ducting of the cold air into a heat shielded enclosure and an induction kit would be the best but doesn't seem to exist yet. Come spring, I'll try to make my own if nothing is commercially available. ________________________________ 02 MC, IB/W, Aero kit, Supersprint exhaust 93 VW Corrado VR6 - For Sale! 88 BMW M3 |
