Question Green Twister Filter?

After finding out that mini Madness doesnt carry the pipercross intake anymore. I was wondering about the Green Twister Filter. My tendency is to write it off because it only costs $55. But it looks good, with a heat sheild which resembles the Viper from piperx. Has anyone had any experience with green filters, specifically the twister . At this price i may just get one to test it out.

Thanks in advance.

I had a green induction kit on the cooper... err... sounded similar to a pipercross, can't say much else.

Green isn't by any means a bad make

Green filters are used on the Peugeot and Citroen rally cars, similar in design and material to K&N.

Cheers

So it doesn't change much oher than noise? I was looking at their site, and they seem to be one of the only companies that offers an adequate heatsheild for their air intake. I was hoping of getting the intake for christmas, should i wait for new options to come out?

For anyone interestd, the site is

According to that website the part number 2278 for 55 buckolas is for the cooper only and is not a twister filter but a drop in replacment for the stock box.

I have recently looked into this filter instead of the K&N induction kit (not Typhoon as not available in the UK) as it has a heatshield.

Just pushing back up and seeing if anyone has got one of these. I have had a green induction kit on a 306 before and they are identicle to K&N .. just green!

Before they got the Green drop in filters, Madness was clearing out the Pipercross drop-in filters for $25.00. Cooper only.
I got one.

The Green Twister Intake costs $299.00, it looks interesting. Hoping for some performance numbers soon.

Reviving this thread

Does anyone here have the Green Twister Intake?
If so, what is your "seat of your pants" impression?

Has anyone put it on a dyno to see what the bhp gain is?

There is a group buy that just opened up on MCO that will knock $80 - $90 off the MINI-Madness price.

By coincidence I had my ONE dyno'd with its Green cone filter on yesterday. MINI quote 90bhp, I managed 98.9bhp. Bear in mind that Paul M's (well Abi M's) which is stock managed 108bhp. Does the intake have an performance effect? Don't know.
Sounds quite good and it is a little cheaper than Pipercross/ K&N.

IB ONE, Seven Hole Alloys, Air Con, CD, Chrome bits - Now with Chrome mirrors and chrome side vents + Custom engraved Whalen Shift Knob and four, yes four driving lights!

Thanks, Sugster.
I saw those dyno results after I posted. I'm a little disappointed. Although I'll say that the MINI2 Dyno Day produced lots of "interesting" results.

I just checked the dyno charts again. Do you have just the filter or the whole green twister intake?

looks great to me and I'm picking one up from a group buy at minicooperonline.

Its a cold air intake, 300 bucks at mini madness, but 220 or something through this group buy.

Green filters carry a very good name, so I'm not at all worried about quality.

I even saw a product spot about them on the speedchannel hot rod tv show, they liked them a lot.

The group buy price at MCO is down to $215. There are supposed to be new dyno results out perhaps this week.

I'd also like to comment on their filter design, it is definitely my favorite.

Double layered cotton, or something similar to that. Better filtration than k and n, but great airflow still. Also no risk of some of it breaking off into the engine like with foam filters. And on top of this their filters are gauranteed FOR LIFE! Good deal if you ask me.

I'm excited, everyone sign up for the group buy so that I can get mine sooner.

The MCO group buy looks like the price has a good chance of being down to $210. Get over there and sign up.

I was watchin speed channel the other day, saw one of the pugeots open the hood, and Wham a green cone filter... so they are no BS company. Anyway's looks like the filter will be down to 210... and if it keeps gaining interest, the price might have to drop in price some more... I will be getting more pics, and the dyno test ASAP for all of you, and trying to answer all the questions over there. You have till the 19th so we will get every one confident with it before we go ahead with it!

both Peugot and citreon use them, last I saw/heard. The top two current names in rally! Seriously, if it weren't for this group buy I would be buying it for 300.

rally sponsership sure beats the heck out of drag and nascar racing sponsership, I bet you can guess which cars actually need a good 'filter' and not just an open hole to their engine...

Still wondering if anyone on MINI2 has this intake not just the filter. I would be very interested to hear what someone who has had it for a couple of months thinks of it.

Big Savings!!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that the group buy price on the Green Twister Intake is down to only $190 over on MCO. (This is for the Cooper only.)

The closing date for this is July 19th.
