Filter change cost vs performance

Whilst awaiting my MCS I want to breath a little more power into my old cooper.
What are the bhp increases claimed by the K&N straight replacement air filter and the K&N cone filter.
Also how do they stack up against the John Cooper works induction kit in terms of bhp and cost

Think twice before going for this sort of modification.
Check with your insurance company first, most give a
ridiculously big premium increase for small bhp gains.
I'd say approx 95% of the time small bhp increases aren't
worth it because of the insurance rip off. A few specialist
insurance company's are good though. Strangely enough big
bhp increases don't attract that much more so they are
more likely to be worth the cost. Sorry but Spock was right
the inhabitants of planet earth aren't logical.

Question

You're insurance company actually asks you " Have you performed any modifications on the vehicle to increase it's performance"

Never heard that before ?

It's apparently a UK-only insurance thing.

You haven't heard of it in Canada and I haven't heard of it in the US.

I find that so funny considering how everyone thinks the US is the land of lawsuits, but it does seem to the case. It is vaguely logical though, just very big brotherish. But aren't other countries amazed the US has its citizens self-report most timess how much you make for income taxes?....

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.
