Foam vs K&N which is better?

I was just wondering if anyone has done a comparison between any of the foam type air filters and the K&N. Dyno charts would be helpful.

Any information about filtering ability? How small a particle will they each let thru? How fast do they loose the improved airflow as they fill up with dirt?

Motor on, Dudes and Dudettes!!!

This is probably one of those grey areas where somehow every manufacturer proves his or hers is the better design. In my research (or my opinion):

Oiled Cotton flows the best (although only slightly better than oiled foam)

Oiled foam filters the best.

Oiled foam doesnt last nearly as long oiled cotton. Both can end up pretty ugly with time but with foam you run the risk of pieces breaking off and ending up in your intake. On the other hand, foam filters are usually alot cheaper or the foam section is easily replaced.

Its a tradeoff. You decide

Foam vs K&N which is better?

If you look round a racing paddock in the UK , you will find that 95% of the cars , whatever their capacity are running reticulated foam filters..................

The main manufactures are PiperCross, and ITG (Induction Technology Group)

I'd go foam every time

Cooper S,200Bhp+ Graham Goode Racing/Superchip Conversion, MagnaFlow Exhaust,British Racing Green,White Roof,Chilli Pack ,Gravity Full Leather, 17" S Spoke Alloys,Multi-Function Strg Wheel,Elec. Pan. Glass Roof,Heated Seats,Park Ctrl,Auto Air,SatNav,Radio Boost,Cd Changer,Bonnet Stripes by Action Graphics Ltd.....

Other Toys:Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa
