How to make the loudest Mini

hi
What would you recommend I buy to get my Mini Cooper as loud as possible, Without voiding the warranty. Do inductuion kits and exhausts void the warranty?
Thanks

Welcome to MINI2

This site has growing FAQ and DIY list and a powerful search engine, both of which can be accessed from the navigation bar under the Sponsors banner near the top of the page.

Clicking FAQ & DIY above and looking under PERFORMANCE AND TUNING reveals the following FAQ about voiding a warranty:

You might loose a lot of power but you could just remove the exhaust from the block, It would be loud as hell but sound like dirt.

thats not a wise sugestion as engines need some back pressure to operate properly and there would be hot gas every where in the engine bay and also in the passenger compartmemt. the best thing to do would be to put a straight through steel tube from the manifold to the back of the car

yeh take out the existing system and replace it with a steel tube it will sound dredfull but will be fantasticaly loud you will have to find a sutable tunning company to do the job corretly. try minidesign they has a MCS with a system that i think they did themselevs they were at the time trying to see how much power they could get out of the MCS

that would void the MOT however would it not, as it does not have the catalytic converter

yes it would void the mot. if you replace the sytem from behind the cat it would sound the same as if the cat wasnt there. you could also put the oem system back on for the tests

The same way I did my first car, lo' these many years ago.
1. Go to the kitchen.
2. Get Mom's ice pick
3. Slide under the car.
See that long round pipe.
4. Repeatedly stab with ice pick.
5. Test drive.
6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 as needed.
7. Return ice pick to kitchen.

LOUD no problem.

If you're actually trying to get a loud as possible exhaust (for whatever reason) this seems like a perfectly logical method. You're bound to decrease engine performance, but if all you care about is volume, I bet this is quite effective.

everyone's willing to make tradeoffs.

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

it seems expensive, when you can get a custom system for about £100 less
