| exhaust advice Ok, I am considering 2 exhausts right now (although, if you think that I am leaving one out, please tell me about it) The two that I am looking at are the Quicksilver, and the UUC. My MCS is a daily driver, so I want something that sounds good, but it not annoyingly loud. I want to be able to drive through a residentual neighborhood and not **** people off. Any imput? Anyone know when the UUC is due out? -Andrew |

| MINI2 Regular | Before I say anything, I will say I haven't heard these systems in real life. Files located here as well: http://www.mcshp.org/parts/exhaust/Quicksilver/ http://www.mcshp.org/parts/exhaust/UCC_Motorwerks/ Even though the Quicksilver exhaust sound's were recorded in a parking structure (it seems to exaggerate the true sound of it through echoes), I think it sounds like the most beautiful thing in the world. It just sound like it has so much balls! The UCC sounds a bit closer to stock and has a different tone than the QS. Doesn't the QS seem A LOT more burbly or is it just a really good echo? I like it As far as which one is louder, really hard to say, but UCC is supposed to drone the least of all the aftermarket systems.-Anto DS/B MINI Cooper S Got It: 2/9/03. It's All Excellent. |

Offline | I don't know if anyone remembers Stebro exhaust systems on the classic Mini's but they have just designed a new exhaust system for the new Cooper and the Cooper S. I have an MCS and Stebro installed their system last week. It sounds great, not too loud and it looks great. The exhaust does seem to give the MINI some extra power through the full RPM range. The stock exhaust on my MCS was 23 Kilograms and the new system weights a little over 16 Kilograms. Stebro will be selling these systems soon, you can contact Dan at sales@stebro.net. I hope to have some pictures of both the Cooper and Cooper S installations in about a week. Al |

Offline | Just noticed your posting AL. I have the Stebro exhaust system fitted on my Mini Cooper and I can second your comments. I have seen an appreciable improvement in the mid and high range revs. The system sounds great; a nice deep throaty growl upon start-up and a low rumble on tick over. Moderate to hard accelerating produces a refined deep base sound. The people at Stebro and the owners Dan and Andy were nice to deal with and I would definitely recommend them and their system. Even the mechanic at the dealership mentioned how good the system looked and sounded! Mike ![]() ![]() |
