I know the Cooper induction kit comes with it's own warranty, and does not affect the BMW warranty on the rest of the car. BMW tend to like John Cooper and so would be a bit more leanient with them than with K&N or similar. In my opinion, that's sometimes worth paying extra for.

However, I'm sure you could sweet talk a good garage into ignoring an induction kit!

On the M3/M5 front, you have to remember that these are proper performance cars and were design so each part works with the others without giving much of a fudge for EU regulations. Besides, don't they sound nice enough

In the end, I'm more inclined to buy the JC one, but I ain't seen the others yet...

There's quite a few of them floating around, by various different forms. Can only be a matter of time 'till in comes out for the MINI

Dom

PS. My mate has a stainless steel one of them for a Saxo which is for sale. Slight deer damage if anyone wants it

amigos I am very interested in Alpina doing the job to enhance BHP on the vehicles. I spoke to BMW dealer here in Jacksonville Florida and they info me that they only accept DINAN as their ONLY authorized aftermarket provider for their bimmers I dont know if it means the MINI also!!

Cool

Glad you liked the look of the stainless induction kit on our site mentioned above. Just a note, the price is £140.00 inc VAT, and UK postage and packaging. Website www.autofashion.co.uk

What type of MINI do you own, daxler ?
Have you asked JCW if it's no problem to fit it on a standard Cooper ?
Since the open foam air filter was intended for the Works Coopers, it might upset the standard system, as AER mentioned earlier.
I'm very curious what it sounds like.

I find it hard to believe that John Cooper would advertise this kit on there website as an upgrade if it was not meant for use Without the car having other Mods. This may be me being naive but I think its worth a shot.

I fitted a Pipercross induction Kit to my Lotus elise and it really made a huge differance. Ok admittadly it could have been partly phycological because of the great noise it made but there was a definate power increase especially when the throttle was opened all the way. As far as I could tell this caused absolutely no bad side affects (IF you like a bit of induction noise) and if it could do similar things on the mini it will be great

The way I see it i'll be a ginnia pig for this one and get back to you.

Well some Bad News I'm afraid, just got an e-mail back from JCW and they don't sell the Cone Filter Kit without the whole Works kit so there goes that idea.

I find this a bit strange I mean what if someone has an accident and damages their JCW exhaust are JCW going to ask you to replace a whole Works kit. Surely they've made a mistake!

I hope if someone bends my tow hooks in a Club Sport I'm not going to have to buy a whole new car.....

I imagine those that have gone for the whole works, and are unfortunate to damage a part of that kit, then JCW will replace that particular item, as there is proof that the whole kit was fitted in the first place. (i.e. insurance claim etc.)

You could get a current 'works' car owner to order one for you. Usually when you phone for parts thay ask your name and reg. no. Either that or wait a couple of months and say you have just brought one second hand and the exhaust is damaged. Quote someone elses real reg.no and order away! Lastly go to the manufacturer direct and buy from them. They used to use Janspeed but put their own tailpipe finisher on to make it different.

In a couple of months time there will be a choice of after market filters and exhausts.
(this is a FACT )

After market bits

But sadly, Janspeed will not be among them, as they have gone into recievership, and they are no longer being imported. The stock that people have are being sold off to reduce losses!

Well i'm sure K&N are coming out with one very shortly and have put my name down for one already.

Very sad to hear about Janspeed I have owned 2 exhausts made by them and I have found them to be of very high quality.

Well I'll have to look further afield for another exhaust there are quite a few out there but i can't decide which one to go for.

I'm hoping that warranty will not be affected!
