| MINI2 Master | I need some advice regarding rolling road tests. Basically when I get my car I’d like to have it tested to establish its bhp and torque figures. Can anyone tell me: 1. How much this test would cost? 2. Where abouts (near Essex / London) could I go to have it done? Cheers! Chris. (P.S. On running the car in, can you use full acceleration up to the 4 / 4.5 rpm mark?) | MINI2 Master | If you want to adhere to a running in procedure I wouldn't recommend using full throttle before the run in has finished. There are a lot of threads on the forum about running in procedures, some claim it doesn't matter others that it increases engine/car longevity. At the very least if you do not do it your warranty on the engine could be voided. Best to do a search and see. I did do a run in process and then after 1250 miles gradually increased the RPM by 500 per 100 miles or so until I was reaching the 7000 mark. I don't usually go that close to 7000 anymore (although it has been known ). I did start using full throttle shortly after the 1250 miles mark. There was a dyno day run at BHP in Byfleet at the start of the month. There is also another happening in Bicester at the end of June, details can be found here: http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...555#post357555 The day cost £25 a car. Maybe by then your car will be run in so it would be good to see another Works S. ![]() |

| MINI2 Master | Excellent! Thanks for that ![]() I'll definately come along to that day, but I don't think my car will be totally run in. However, I can still use it as a day out to meet other owners, and it allows me to put some miles on my car ![]() What did your car output on the last dyno? BHP / Torque ? Cheers. | MINI2 Master | The figures were not good....but then nobody's were apart from one very lucky stock MCS owner. I had 188 bhp and 225 Nm (hence the reason I'm going to another dyno day to find out if that's for real). I believe my car had one of the higher torque values (although I maybe wrong) but it was the general consensus that the dyno was reading low due to heat issues in the workshop. There is meant to be an article in this months Miniworld about the day so hopefully it will show the results of all the cars (and probably my ugly mug!). There is also a bit of discussion on this thread about that day: http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...highlight=dyno ![]() |
