Thumbs up MAGNAFLOW for MINI / COOPER / S

Hi there, Please let me introduce myself. I have been a Mini fan now for over 10 years have a MK1 Morris Mini Minor which is almost complete ready for concours competition.
I own a company called Tokyo Express we deal mostly in Japanese cars ie Honda's.
I have been involved with Magnaflow for some time in the UK.
We sell all the Exhaust systems they have to offer for the Mini at we think a fair price.
We believe that it is by far the best looking best performing item on the market for the Mini right now.
If you have any questions about this product or would like to purchase one please do not hesitate to give me a call or drop me a mail.
we sell the Magnaflow system for 400.00 inc vat.

Tokyo Express,
I case you missed it there are rules about making commercial posts on MINI2.

Sorry I was told that a certain company was ripping off Mini owners by one of the forum people.
I started this company to help people and stop people being ripped off by so called giants in the business.
I just wanted to help your guys out..

Hey Duncan,

Not trying to come down on you, just wanted to make you aware

You might want to PM Paul Mullett (the administrator of the site). This is a really great web site and I'm sure many UK MINI owners will pleased to see you offering Magnaflows at a good price.

Didn't mean to sound unwelcoming. Peace

OK, help MINI2 out, don't rip us off (or those companie who DO support us) by using us for free advertising, become an advertiser/sponsor yourself. If your prices and products are good, it will certainly help you reach the right people.

I thought Owners car Forums were put in place by enthusiasts to help like minded car owners recieve information about new products, not a money making venture.
This is the first time I have encountered such a reaction maybe you should consider restaints on certain people joining the forum or make it clear commercial endorsements of products are not welcome.
I do not see my comment is any different to someone else saying they have a good product.
I am a Mini owner and have this product on my current car.
What are your "costs" to bring information to your readers?

Tokyo:

Please consider that I went to this thread to read about user opinions etc. To then find your advertisement was disappointing.

I come to MINI2 to let off steam/relax & obsess over my MINI. If I want to buy something I know to look at the advertisers section, or use Google to search for what I want. I don't want to run into ads unexpectedly.

If you don't think you should have to pay that's perfectly fine. But surely you can recognize a good site when you see one. ...Someone must maintain it and they have to live/eat too. Is your business a charity? ...Why not sell your Magnaflow's at break-even. Then I'm certain no one would complain at your posting ads.

BTW
There are numerous businesses that DO pay to advertise here.

'nough said.

Ummm, did you notice the FIRST POST at the top of this forum?

"Announcement: Rules regarding commercial posting/advertising."

Violating the rules of a forum and insulting its management is a fine way to introduce yourself to the community.

No JBOO I'm not!

Maybe you're the type who likes that commercials the run before the movie, or solicitations over the phone? But me, I can do without it all. I don't find this much different, and I did stumble onto it cuz I have a magnaflow and was interested in what others might have to say.

Everyone has thier sensitivities.

MINI2 started as a small time hobby website, but with the HUGE size and popularity comes a great deal of financial costs, as well as time and effort running the site, it has to be funded somehow.

Indeed, there is a HIGHLIGHTED section when you sign up about commercial posting rules, which states:
Quote:
Posts by Commercial Companies or their representatives/employees.
Posts made by companies promoting or selling any MINI related product or service must ONLY be made if as an HONEST AND HELPFUL reply to a request for information regarding such products or services.
Direct selling or promoting of products or services (including commercial websites) is NOT ALLOWED, unless the company involved is currently advertising on MINI2.com.
Any commercial posts that do not meet with this criteria will be removed.

The owners of MINI2 FORUMS have the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.

In addition to which, there is a post (an announcement) called: Rules regarding commercial posting/advertising. <-- that's a link to the information too.

I can't make it much more clear than that really.

Let me try to explain.

You are selling the products, you are profiting from these sales I imagine.

Someone who gets a good product from a company, then comes on here and says 'I got a great system from xxx company' isn't profiting from it, they are passing on a genuine recommendation, based on a genuine experience, for no personal gain. Apart from knowing they've probably helped out fellow MINI owners.

What are your "costs" to bring information to your readers?

See the section on MINI2 on advertising/sponsoring the site.

I'm closing this thread down now, as it's obviously got people's backs up.

Thanks.

Paul
