Borla Sport Exhaust

Anyone have the Borla Sport or Racing exhaust for the MCS? I noticed someone does have one on Andy's 1/4 mile chart. He also made one of the best times yet his 60ft time wasn't as good.

DS/W MCS all packages, 19% pulley, larger injectors, GIAC ECU, Madness intake, UUC exhaust, Milltek Header

Same here. I'm set on the Borla, but I don't know if I should go Race or just the standard.

I was actually wondering if I could fit a Milltek head/cat to a Borla cat-back.

MCS Pure Silver/Black

I've been very happy with my Borla Sport Catback setup. It sounds great. I have noticed a slight harmonic in the car at around 3400 - 3600 RPM and suspect that it is the exhaust. It isn't much of a problem but you will notice it.

Check your Mirror, I'm about to pass.

Great! Is this the regular Borla or the Racing Borla???VerticalMINI - where did you get it from? How much did you pay, if I may ask? Also, if it is the racing Borla, you don't think it might be too loud for everyday driving??? Do you feel the exhaust gave you more noticeable power???

HAve you ever dynoed your MINI????

Sorry about all the questions!!
THanks in advance!

I have the Borla Sport (racing) exhaust and I love it. Got it from Mini-Madness. I forget price now, since I got a ton of mods done at one time and bought packages. Too impatient to get them one at a time and check each out individually. I also got the London stainless steel header, so also may effect my positive feelings about the sound.

Because I did all at once, I can't quantify what the Borla Sport adds to my power. I can tell you my car is very fast. Got baseline HP numbers before mods and will get it re-dynoed after I run in the clutch. Waiting for my suspension mods to arrive before I head back down to Portland. Looking forward to seeing the numbers.

The sound is very throaty and to me, what a modified MCS should sound like. It sounds race. Back off and it will snap crackle and pop a bit. Been at a trackday with it and four people came up to me, to say they loved the sound. This was coming from an M3, 911, Viper and a Vette.

As for everyday driving, you can definitely hear it. A nice low rumble in all gears when not under acceleration (big grumble then ). That sound represents what I bought the MCS and added the mods for in the first place. It now sounds like what it is, a hot sports car.

As for ambient cabin noise, no problem. I just tap the up button on the volume of the HK sound system. "Rock and Roll Hoochie Coo" -- Johnny Winter

Don't mean to be off topic....but, what's the difference between the Sport and Racing exhaust. Is the racing one louder or what?

I am told it handles a larger volume. Therefore, should let more air and sound through. It definitely is louder than regular Borla.

I have heard a car with a Borla Sport the same as mine, but with a head and cam mod; it was even louder. I'm guessing, the more you do, the better the mods the more that passes through the higher volume system and the louder the sound.

If you play with the position of the rear mufflers so your tips move in or out you can get rid of the harmonic issue. Its a great system. I was shocked how small those rear mufflers are. Its a mini Exhaust for a Mini! Great Exhaust though
