Offline | Is the exhaust on the conversion just the Cat back or does it include the manfold? Anyone have ideas bhp gains of just fitting the exhaust? Thanks ![]() Global Moderator ![]() |

Offline | Re: JCW S Exhaust The exhaust is from the front pipe back ie does not include the header pipe. If you look on the JCW Works web site under Tuning it shows you the system. No idea about HP gains, but you cannot just by the exhaust system on its own. Looks like you will have to bite the bullet LMB and buy the JCW Works conversion. Ypu know thats what you want. Managed to sell your S yet? |

Offline | I was told by my local parts department that the exhaust was not available on its own, have you been told otherwise? If so do you have a part number. As for performance/power increase I'd go with the surefire answer of none or very little but it looks a hell of a lot better than the double peashooter. Plus its not much louder. |

Offline | It's only about 1/3 or 1/4 of the system. It doesn't really offer much in the way of HP gain. Here's where it clamps on: There aint no party like my nana's tea party |

Offline | Can only be caused by the weight of the runflats and their consequently higher rotation mass. Obviously the BHP at the crank will be the same regardless of tire choice, the runflats could however cause a higher BHP loss from crank to wheels, although 15 bhp seems a bit on the high side to me, maybe the dyno needs to be calibrated ![]() |

| MINI2 Senior Derelict | I know this started as an exhausst thread but couldn't help quash a rumour. Everyone seems to suggest that the 17" Pirelli run-flats are heavy beasts. According to this post by Dan from the tirerack over at MCO the tire is 22lbs which compares to 21.5 for the Yokohama AVS ES100 or the Dunlop SP9000 Run Flats at 21.8lbs. So as you can see, the Eufori@ aren't any heavier that other tires. IN fact it's lighter than the Bridgestone S0-3 Pole Position that weighs 24lbs. That being said they do suck, the rubber isn't that great, it's got a pretty poor wear rating and it's not that great in the wet. The link can be found Here Paul |

Offline | Cheers for the thread LMB, I must admit I wondered about this too. If the JCW kit only includes a cat back exhaust, a manifold with sports cat should take it to the region of 210hp then? (whilst screwing up your warranty if something exhausty goes wrong...) |

[/b][/quote] The GOodyear ALL-SEASON runflats are absolutely phenomenal in the wet. It's not just the runflats that are heavy. It's the 17" wheels. The combo is almost 50 lbs! DS/W MCS |

Offline | I agree on the looks and probably the sound (from what I hear - no pun intended!) but I don't think it even gives 5HP! According to the numbers JCW gives, it looks like the pulley, polished head and increased redline would give those numbers. I think the exhaust is purely aesthetics (not that there's anything wrong with that!) DS/W MCS |
