Offline | nitrous oxide? hey guys. ive just palmed my pure silver cooper s off to my mom who fell in love with the car when she first saw it and have ordered my new john cooper works s arrives in august. I got thinking about it and wondered what your thoughts are on a small nitrous kit (30 - 50hp) on top of the JCW kit? What kit from which manufacturer would you use?My main focus is reliability and the gas will only be used every once in a while but even so it has to last and i would like it to remain as inconspicuos as possible. I have perused nos and nx websites but i would like the opinions of those who know the car and what its capable of and where its limitations lie. thanks and please dont be afraid to answer, any feedback is appreciated so if the words maniac or idiot come to mind throw them out there ![]() |

Offline | Minime s is currently running 50-75 shot NOS with the NX kit. Which him and a few others are the ones that need to respond on realiability. Currently im looking into the Cryogentic CO2 kit. But to be inconspicuos I think NOS has whats called the Sneaky Pete kit. where the small bottle could be placed inside one of the side walls. Its a one shot deal pretty much where after wards you need to refill the bottle. 02 MCS DS/W (Totaled November 02 on Fall Folage Run) 03 MCS DS/W (See my MINI Profie for extensive list of mods) |

Offline | Thanks mugami i had a look at the sneaky pete kit and it looks interesting but not exactly what im looking for.The bottle in the back doesnt worry me as far as it being seen goes its the solenoids and the lines in the engine bay that i would like to hide as best possible so that when it needs servicing i dont have to take out the entire thing and then replace it to fool the dealership(very underhanded and devious i know but ill sleep fine )thanks alot for responding though and more replies would be nice. |

Offline | You're not going to want to use the sneaky pete system because that kit does not have to ability to increase fuel pressure or add fuel to the nitrous mixture in fuel injected cars. Anyway, the one major thing I would be concerned with adding nitrous to a JCW car is whether or not the JCW ecu has advanced timing. If it has, you're going to want retard the timing during nitrous applications. There are some ignition boxes out there specifically desinged so that when you hit the nitrous, it will retard the timing. Don't know which boxes work with the MCS though. |
