Want to thank all the contributors to "performance and tuning" over the last year or so. I've been hanging back and reading and waiting for my S.

Thought I was going to go for the Works package, so delayed delivery. LOL. In the meantime I was making notes of the various things you guys were doing. Pretty crazy notes by May of this year. I looked the whole deal over and goodbye Works package and aftermarket here I come.

Have Mini-Madness just down the road in Portland, so we dug in and began a M-M Makeover. I'm glad I did.

Picked up the car last Wednesday night and took it to PIR (site of recent G.I. Joe's race) on Thursday. All I can say is that the car is incredible. It runs and sounds like one mean Mo-Fo. Had four people come up to me just to comment on the great sound. As for the track, I more then held my own against a stable of powerhouses, including M-3's, 911's, Corvette's, a Viper and a Ferrari.

I'm still smiling. Was not sure if I had done the right thing, till the end of that day. Not anymore. Can't wait to get my suspension in next.

I know I'm not telling anyone anything they already don't know, but these MINI's are awesome.

At the end of the last session, a very nice British fellow driving a Ferrari Modena 360 who started two back from me, said that these bloody Mini's should be outlawed at the track.

He passed the car between us and told me he was really trying to get me, but couldn't. We had a good laugh, but it absolutely made my day.
