Header & sport cat

Is anyone using headers without the cat? If so, what are the issues with the ECU? Is there a 'fix' for this approach - like a resistor across the O2 sensor wires? Andy....?

And, for the header/no cat approach, is there any measured data as to increased performance and where in the rev band it occurs?

Or, if it's wiser to retain the cat (in terms of the EMS2000, not emmission legalities) can anyone give an opinion on which is the best header/sport cat combination?

The car is a competition car so the legal aspect isn't an issue.
