Looking for advice peeps , i have ordered some Tar.ox 10 Pot callipers and 318mm Discs for the front of the car and a rear calliper conversion with utilises the existing calliper but adapts it so a 318mm disc will fit , before i sheell out over 2k for brakes i want ppl's views , my olny other option was the Brembo's but i didnt want to copy of some one on here! Am i doing the right thing?Are tar.ox good!?

This should be of no concern when it comes to your safety!! Not copying someone's aesthetic mods is a great idea, but when it comes to performance modding, I wouldn't worry about copying.

As far as which brand is better, I honestly couldn't tell you. I know Brembo's are top quality, but know nothing about Tar.ox.

I've heard of TAROX and they are very very good, IMO as good than brembos!

However have you tried looking at the Alta website? Its an American site but give some good info, and its similar money! I dont know what their reputation is like, but the americans seem to like them!

The only thing is there must be a reason why F1 cars use Brembos as do Ferraris!!

I thought you felt the need...............the need for speed Dink?

I dont think anyone will be bothered about copying them in that aspect but I dont think there will be much difference between them in normal day use but on the track maybe there will be................. but the way you drive no such thing as normal driving ...........same as me

I too have been looking into mods for my car . If i have time next week its going to be lowered , its in the garage for a touch up and I too have been looking at brakes .
I too looked at the Tar ox but a bit expensive for me i think as in the Brembo . Ive been looking at the AP ones about £650 but i dont think , after speaking to Midlife over the weekend, that they are any good.
I dont think its worth buying the rear conversion cos most braking will be done by the front . Maybe keep the rear as standard and spend the money saved and buy the Brembo or Tar ox .

Hey peeps , i went for the tar.ox , had to put a 50% deposit down on the spot and they still dont arrive until 4 weeks! oh the wait!!!! anyway , still undecided about the rears , i know they'll make little or no difference but how manh mini's have u seen with 318mm rotors on the back , hmmm , wud look cool and thats about it!

yes, they are dammmmmmmn good. I have them on my JCW shoes for four months already. It's better to order Tarox big rear rotor, too. Then it will work so balanced and poised for you.
The only small complain is the noise at the speed between 15km/h to 25km/h, the break generate some GEEEEEEEZ.

I can recommend Tarox, had them before and they were great! Hubby's car has Brembos and they certainly have great stopping power, I know the AP's are great, but I'm getting the Alta front and rear brakes!! I think Brembo do the rather snazzy calipers that change colour with heat, mmmm.....

Thanks I will check them out. Have note decided which kit to go with or if I am just going to change rotors and pads. Mini Sport promised me they were coming out with aluminum kit but I have seen no progress on it.
