Just had an email from Birds about GruppeM's induction kit

Hi Shorty, do you happen to have any dyno numbers? GruppeM is extreme quality and price indeed, highly usuable in high-end mods here in Greece (M3turbo etc). I would be interested, if it perfomes as it costs.

Birds haven't got any in stock yet, but they are looking at 10-15 BHP gains.

That's what I thought to be honest
I'm told that it's a carbon fibre box, but still sounds like a lot of money

Definitly! I'm almost positive as good as it is you can get a similar system knocked up for under #200!

The reason of such an extreme cost is obviously the carbon or carbon kevlar construction. Carbon is used because of its heat reflection and welding properties, also for its light weight and aerodynamic (friction on the air molecules). So the “plain” box more than that. But as I said we need to see some real dyno data, on a stock S preferably. I will try to contact the dealers here in Greece, but I doubt if the have anything yet, we have two in my country.

Yeah thats right the carbon fibre protects against heat soak, but for only a 10bhp gain you've really got to exhaust all other modes first such as a exhaust system befoer considering this.

Law of dimishing returns...

The box does look nice. A lot better than the minimania box and it has a cover. BUT the price is too high
