JCW and new manifold

Ok,

I've searched the forums, spoken to MiniSpares and Birds, and I'm still not much closer to deciding.

I have a JCW S and am looking at putting on a sports manifold (i.e. miltek etc). Now two questions:

1. Will the current manifolds on the market fit the JCW exhaust system?

2. Is it worth waiting to see if JCW bring out a manifold in their new performance options in the new year? (I mean is it likely that they will change this item?)

Basically Birds said that if I want such a system, I might have to lose my JCW exhaust as the systems they have incorporate both the manifold and exhaust. They also said they had not heard of anyone putting one of these onto a JCW S.

So anyone out there with some ideas / theories?

You can put Supersprint headers on your car and keep the stock cat that connects up to the JCW Exhaust. The JCW is just a cat back system correct?

many JCWs use Milltek, I use it, too. If JCW scored 90, then add Milltek will hit 97.
Now my car sounds better and runs MUCH better. A little bit louder then JCW, but very pleasing sound, not so instrutive. I think I need Alta CAI to fill my 3 extra points.

The JCW is a cat back system yes. So I take it the Miltek will just replace the current system, there are no modifications needed to fit it?

I have ordered a motorsport version of the works s from john cooper and they are fitting the motorsport works exaust which is 2" bore as apposed to the 1 and 3/4 bore of the road going works exaust .Couple this to the motorsport 4-2-1 manifold and, it gets rid of the restiction that the normal exaust suffers from.when fitted with the cold air filter as well will give between 212-215 bhp.
Its expensive at around £600 for the manifold, I don't know how much the bigger bore exaust is as they are substituting it for the standard foc

Not quite, it's about 1/3 of the system, the pipe is cut and it's bolted on. God only knows why they did it this way and not a simple bolt on cat-back?

So basically JC Garages offer another manifold? If thats the case, I might as well get it from them. No doubt however when I phone them they'll deny any knowledge of such a system

I'll phone them in the morning anyway, worth a shot I guess.

Cheers.

yes. Milltek is bolt on, no need for modification with JCW cat back. Take about 20 min for skilled personal to install.

So it it just bolt on or "cut and bolt on" ?

no cut needed, simply bolt on, Milltek is designed exact sized as stock one.

Miltek seems the popular choice. That's what I was thinking of getting.

I'm waiting to see what John Cooper Garages comes up with in the next month or two. From what I've heard they have got something in the pipeline.

Hmmm, I´ll better wait another two-three months then.
AC Schnitzer springs and Milltek manifold+sportcat unless JCW will come up with something similar.
