| MINI2 Master | Jcw 250/260bhp!! After speaking with a very helpful person at JCW today in their Motorsport division, I asked about possible upgrades. Apparently an induction system, and manifold are being looked at / developed and as mentioned before on the board, they should be available in the new year!! I was told a "whole host of upgrades would be coming". I also asked about the potential BHP I could expect to see and they say that they would be working to about 250-260BHP!! My Works car is good, but this would be awesome! With the weight of the Mini, and 260bhp, the 0-60 and 0-100 dash would be very impressive. Also the torque would be immense for a little car. 97BHP on top of the standard car…..yes please!! Time to start saving ![]() Lotus Elise SC - Collecting 1st April |

Offline | So Chris looks like things are developing nicely,I wonder if all this is under warranty! So we will have to wait till the new year ,wonder what the price will be for it all . I was told a increase to 215 bhp ,but now its 250 /260 !!!!!!! seems a massive increase to me ,but lets hope it happens. cheers Dave. dave 22 S Works DS/DS body colour wheel arches,,Aero kit side skirts, white rear lights, chrome mirrors,Schnitzer springs lowered 30 mm, full leather. |

| MINI2 Master | The chap from JCW did say to keep my eyes on the motoring press for news of these upgrades. He did mention it being a whole host of upgrades rather than stage 2 / stage 3 kits, so I'd imagine this BHP of 250-260 would be with ALL their componants added. With regards to warranty, I wouldn't be suprised if it was covered. He did mention that their hands are tied somewhat when it comes to BMW as they have such a close working relationship with them. As it stands, they do have a sports manifold for the car at the moment available to purchase, but they sell it for motorsport use only. I did ask if I could buy this item and then sign a disclaimer form so that I could use it on my car, but he said "not really, it will probably be best to wait until the new year when we'll have a whole host of upgrades coming to the market". Offline | Simple equation- P&P C £ (Power and Performance Costs Money) ![]() 255bhp sounds like an awful lot for a front wheel drive car, I remember reading that 250bhp is the Maximum that *should* go through the front wheels before things start to become rediculous. Looking forward to hearing about these additional upgrades though...Should be something.. ![]() |

Offline | Before any additional JCW horses are added, make sure to fit better brakes and suspension first. The 200 bhp today are just a little too much for the original brakes and suspension to handle. JCW will have both brake and suspension kits available next year (pending BMW approval). |

| MINI2 Master | My schnitzer springs go on the car on Tuesday, so that should sort any problems there. After that I will look at brake upgrades before putting anymore power through! I just think between 230-250bhp in a Mini would be really really good fun! Especially when other people see it and say "oh its only got 163bhp" hehe ![]() Lotus Elise SC - Collecting 1st April |

Offline | I think Cadillac's V8 Old cars (not like the CTS) with 275hp and 300 ft-lbs would probably be tops of current sold as Scargo has mentioned. I'm not sure if the key would be cost/hp or cost for total increase. The fact that the car only had 165 to begin with, and gets such a % increase, they can charge a lot for it. Who will buy it remains to be seen of course.. And if they'll actually offer an LSD, or it'll continue as wheelspin R us is also always the question. Anyway, new stuff is always good, thanks for the info. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

| MINI2 Master | Warranty would definately be covered as I have been told that they guys at JCW are awaiting BMW approval of their upgrades. Since they have such a "close working relationship with BMW", I doubt they would or could offer any upgrades that weren't sanctioned by BMW. Hence, they would all be warranty approved! ![]() Lotus Elise SC - Collecting 1st April |

| MINI2 Regular | Don't forget the old Toronados and Caddy's Not the same animal, but both put a ton ot hp and torque through the front tires, (Caddy being the king with the 1970 model 500cid Eldorado with a gross flywheel rating of 550lbft of torque..) It's not how many hp, it'a the chassis and driveline design that make or break the car. At least one owner here has 258 at the wheels and hasn't lunched the trans, the bottom end of the motor, nor the halfshafts, and has run a 13 flat in the 1/4 with a MPH good for mid 12's. See the Drag Racing posts.. I think as long as the driver, brakes, suspension and tires are up to the task, the MINI is more than ready for some serious power, remember, the amount of time you spend with 250hp actually feeding the wheels is minimal, most driving has you well below that peak #, unless you're putting the motor in a boat... I look forward to all the power they can give, but I'm not buying until my warranty is almost up, and most of the teething problems inherent to the big # kits have been figured out.
