Offline | I can't see too many takers at 15 grand a go. It will be interesting to compare the price to the AmD Rotrex 300BHP car due in the near future. I have an idea the AmD will come in considerably less than this. Wot Midlife crisis??? |

Offline | I will be test driving the completed BBR 275 conversion in the next few weeks, as soon as their work is complete. I'll be posting a full review on MINI2 (asuming I come out alive). ![]() |

Offline | re: BBR 275 BHP Conversion (PowerGrip?) Wow, can't wait to see the results of a test drive in that beast. Once I stopped drooling over 275HP, the other thing that caught my eye was the description of the "BBR PowerGrip" suspension. They're very vague about what they actually do, and I couldn't see any other discussion of this here. Anyone know what the changes are? Thanks, Scott |

Offline | Anybody that says f*ck on their website raises question marks. Not that I'm guilt free in that regard but there's a time and place for it. Your public web site where you're promoting your business isn't one of them.Public trash talkers usually don't back up what they say. I'll be interested. |

Offline | Kudos, Obe. I've been wondering about BBR for a bit. All their "modified maps" garbage. Instead of just saying they have a performance chip software program. How far do they push the ECU to get their 220HP package, when the only significant mod besides the chip is the pulley. No CAI. No exhaust. Sounds like an engine problem waiting to happen. |

Offline | 15K pounds on top of the price of an MCS would put you in the drivers seat of a really good car! You're looking in the $45k to $50k range in the states. I love my MINI, but I'd have to look elsewhere before I put that much into one. -- '03 S B/W |

Offline | just wondering if this would affect the warranty i think they added the last 5 accidently after the £14995, should be £1499 so copper s (no options) = £14600 "Tune up" = £14995 +________ £29595 am sure we could find something else to do for 30K COOPER S C O M I N G S O O NTo my drive |

| MINI2 Master | According to this months Evo the BBR 220 was the fastest out of the lot. Also you don't get anything for free, as soon as you start going beyond a certain point in car tuning the costs escalate very quickly. It might be relatively cheap to get 20-30% more power in your car with a new pulley and manifold/exhaust but getting to 60-75% more is going to start stretching the old purse strings (especially if reliability is also required): 1) Realistically the transmission is going to need replacing considering that the getrag box in the Cooper S is rated to 250nm. 2) The engine bottom end is most likely going to need replacing (as strong as it is) 3) The head will need intensive modification (i.e. not just a port and polish) 4) Supercharger will need replacement alongside the intercooler. 5) blah de blah....there is going to be a lot of things being changed... For that kind of money it almost seems more sensible trying to squeeze a larger engine in to the front. If an E46 M3 engine can be but into that Qvick car then why not a turbo'd 2.0L (maybe a boxer from an Imprezza??) I had a look at the AmD price list when MINI2 were doing the dyno day. I was shocked a the costs of their kits, the one they put on the rollers made 240+ hp (at the crank, may not be altogether right of course) and was their stage 5 kit. It had a lot done to it and cost a large wodge at that time (let's just say the figure 2 and times it by a JCW conversion). They had a stage 6 which was meant to take the car to 280+ and that was £10k then. The work carried out on the car seemed impressive, the cost almost justified it (in other words they have to recoupe their R&D costs somehow and 280+ hp would be mad) and yet I found myself thinking that perhaps it wasn't going to make as much power as advertised...considering the stage 5 was meant to be 255+ hp at the crank.......I hope I'm wrong of course. |

| MINI2 Master | Having said all that, the torque curve for the AmD car was impressive in comparison to the other Cooper Ss at the dyno day. Have a look here: http://www.mini2.com/forum/showpost....31&postcount=9 |
