twin exhaust

I'm interested in the twin exhaust for Coopers (non-S) and I'm thinkin to install it to my Cooper. The system that I'm talkin about is the one that has one muffler tip each side...not like the MCS which has both in the middle...
I know I can get the ready-to-install system...but unfortunately..I'm in Australia (Melbourne)..from my knowledge, noone has ever brought in any of this stuff..please correct me if I'm wrong..if I'm to import it, it's gonna cost me a lot for the shipping..
Does anyone in Melbourne know where I can customise my muffler into the twin pipe system?
What will the effect be in terms of performance?..if it is done coerrectly, of course.. Coz I dont wanna sacrifice my Mini's performance

thanks to all the kind hearted

Hi,
I've got such a twin exhaust on my car for one day. It's the AC Schnitzer one. Don't know if it is produced by Remus, but I was told that by somebody from this forum.
I've seen on Remus website (http://www.remus.at) that Remus parts were sold in Australia. Remus has a twin exhaust for the Cooper.

Indeed, Remus has a twin one. Always found Remus good value for money, but that was mostly on other cars. Haven't heard the Remus on the MINI yet.
For performance you shouldn't take the Remus, because it doesn't give you more HP, only a nice sound.

If you want more performance you should have one made or import one which goes straight to the manifold, so without the middle box, and eventually even change the manifold.

For the rest I don't know any whou make L/R exhausts. Only custom made I guess.
