I've been looking at getting one of the Whalen shift knobs sometime in the near future. I've heard some really good feedback about the product. I assume it's meant as a replacement for the factory knob. If so, I was wondering if it works with aftermarket short shifter kits. Does anyone know if it works with something like the kit from Alta or Rogue? Thanks.

The Rogue is just a lower extension on the stock arm so the knob stays. The Alta is a replacement arm (it's adjustable) and uses threaded knobs.
I have the ProMINI short shift. It's a replacement arm AND it works with the OEM or Whalen knob. Best of both worlds.

Very happy with the short shift
I can't recommend the Whalen enough.. Make an excellent Christmas present

Thanks for the clarification. How was the install of the Promini short shifter? Was it a simple "drop in" replacement or do you have to get under the car like the Rogue kit.

The only hard part was getting the armback into the shift tower. Apin in the butt. Took about 1 1/2 hours taking my time. A good DIY product.
