Overpriced throttle bodies?

Throttle bodies for the MCS are generally priced at over US$400, and that requires a tb exchange. On the other hand, a K-series engine throttle body for the MGF or the Elise only costs GBP80 to GBP120, and that doesn't require a tb exchange. How can the Mini one cost so much more?

The drive by wire portion of the mini TB makes dissassembly and reassembly very labour intensive.

I think even more HP. I've noticed without one, my power is really down.

I have one from Mini Madness and I do notice power but more importantly I notice a crisper more responsive throttle response. I am not sure about the other cars you guys are talking about but the MIni S 's throttle body is sort of a swiss clock inside which probably attributes to the cost.

Anyone else find it humorous that MINI-Madness is ripping on their competitors for using tape to hold together TB's, when MINI-Madness' own website showed their own product held together with duct tape? Yeah, yeah, I know they said it was just a prototype, but still looks like the pot calling the kettle black.

I've yet to see a moded TB that's not taped (got a band-clamp or similar holding it together). ...Anyone seen different?

Is it possible to get throttle bodies fitted to my JCW car?

Can someone drop me a PM if possible to let me know!! The only reason I'm eager to find out is that I have them on my Caterham R300 and they sound AWESOME!!

Thats what happens when things are under development I guess. The really humorous thing is some companies sell them like that. Mine has the metal band.
