| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | EBC Greenstuff Pads. What's the cheapest place for Front and Rear? Anyone any ideas. I've looked at New MINI Sport and Graham Goode. Anywhere better than these two in the UK? ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

| MINI 2 OLD BOY | Get some mintex 1144's if your gonna get any pads , i had green stuffs on my car , total utter rubbish , they were good for a week or so after that they were just so unconsistent it was untrue , best thing about them was the lack of dust , but hey id rather clean my wheels more often than have naff brakes , all depends on ur driving style i supopose , just my 2p worth. | Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | Well I do beg to differ I've driven cars with Mintex, Ferrodo, EBC and Standard and EBC have always come out on top. The only problem with EBC is that the bedding process must be strictly adhered too, however tempting it may be to slam on the brakes and test them out. I had three sets on my Mini Classic. First set excellent, second set I knackered by not following the running in procedure and got exactly what you have experienced. Work OK for a few weeks and then pants. 3rd set I followed the proper procedure and were fantastic again. Oh and as for the Mintex. Fine on the track, rubbish on the road. They don't work at low enough temperature like the EBC's. The EBC's always braked the same, hot, cold, warm, whatever. Mintex worked very well warmed up but you might as well have been using dusters for brake pads when you drove down the road first thing on a cold morning. The only time I experienced braking that bad was when I had drums all round! Maybe I had a bad set of pads but it put me off. You could never trust whether the pads were going to make the brakes come on really hard or really soft. Not very confidence building! I'm always open to new suggestions though so maybe I'll try a set of Mintex again when the EBC's have worn out Oh BTW the cheapest place for EBC's was PL MINI as they do both Front and Rear now. Their prices inc VAT are like some other places before the VAT! ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |
