Offline | I am contemplating getting a quicksilver exhaust and have been informed that there are two types available. The standard sports and now a Supersports exhaust. It is the latter that I am interested in. Apparently it is lighter, better flow characteristics and nosier due to less 'packing' than the sports model. It is aimed at those MCS' that are pushing the 200+Bhp barrier. I would be keen to hear from owners with the Supersports fitted on how nosiey it REALLY is and if possible could anyone give me a sound file. Any other comments would be appreciated. |

Offline | Looks like no one has any further information. Quicksilver themselves have told me they have shifted at least 100 of these items in the last couple of months or so. Obviously not to anybody on these forums. |

| Maxin' and Relaxin' | i was looking at them on coolnew the other day. was gonna ring them cos i want an exhaust now and will probably get a 200bhp upgrade at a later date so was a little confused as to why they had two different ones and what the difference was. |

Offline | Fizzle, as far as I am aware CoolNew are the only UK authorised reseller of Quicksilver exhausts. I have spoken to them about getting an exhaust fitted. Apparently Tony the founder and owner, has a QS supersports on his MCS. I may have to go and listen before I make a final decision. |

Offline | Hi, The Quciksilver system does come in two option upto or over 200BHP is the deciding factor. The systems are £382+vat for the cat back option pre 200BHP, £430+vat for the 200BHP+ the system only comes with 1 rear box unlike the oe system with 2, this also has the added advantage of saving 10 kilos. A choice of 3 tailpipes are available, Twin Round, Twin Oval or large Oval. Every system comes with a 25 year warrenty. http://www.coolnew.co.uk/productcat.asp?type=3 Regards Tony Last edited by coolnew : Jan 21st, 2004 at 12:32 PM. |

Offline | Thanks for the reply Tony. I quoted £505 inc. VAT only because one of your colleagues gave me that figure over the phone 1 hr earlier. I did think it was a little expensive Is there any way in which you can get a good sound/video sample of your car with the Supersports exhaust on? It is the only one I have not heard. How would you rate the in cabin noise levels at motorway speeds Tony? Thanks, Paul. |

Offline | Hi Paul, The Pre 200BHP is a great sounding exhaust note, with no drone at motorway speeds, the 200BHP+ is a little louder and has a point at around 90 that I would call drone but who cares when you have 200BHP+ in a mini. For road legal speeds you will be more than happy with the cabin noise levels. The sound/video does not do it justice as it realise on the PC speakers and normally there are not good. The car is always at our showroom in Romford or you can here it on one of the many mini meets and shows we attend. |

Offline | Thanks again Tony. I will have to pop down and have a listen of the 200+bhp exhaust on your car and then all being well get your guys to fit one for me. I assume that you always have these in stock. With the BBR220 conversion it should release a few more ponies P.S Tony, did you used to work for Scoobysport? I had a P1 that had a few 'tweaks' performed by them over the years. |
