thx to anyone that recommended this to me, and especially to zoooom- your cheque is in the post

Does the K&N sticker not help with that?

Monsta you did well to dig that test out, i was probbebly about 10 years old when that test was done, But never the less it gives a good guide for those people who are unsure to go for foam or cotton gauze,

Unfortunatly ITG filters come pre oiled were as Pipercross filters come dry with a extra bottle of oil to oil youself, at this test I am sure the filter was tested untreated,

Do you not have John Cooper signiture stripes?? ITG is not what they use???

James

I do have JC sigs but it is not because I have any kind of John Cooper upgrade ITG used to be used by them on the old S conversions, not sure what they use now (thought it was Pipercross)

Has anyone got pictures of both of the pipercross units, especially the Viper - is that what JC works use on theirs?

Thanks MINIALEX

Here's the pipercross induction kit:

Here's the viper

As far as I know, JCW use a slightly modified version of the pipercross induction kit, in that it's got a foam end instead of the metal bit.

Thanks Dom - whose is the Viper?

Also I know the standard pipercross induction kit suffers fro hot air but what are the actual consequences of this? Thanks

Both those pictures are from the pipercross website so I don't know whose MINI's they are.

It's easier to look at the benefits of cold air that look at the problems with hot air.

Cold air is more dense (molecules vibrating less and so take up less space) than warm air. The denser the air, the more oxygen molecules you'll have in a certain amount of space. The more oxygen there is, the bigger the explosion in the cylinder meaning more downward force, thus more power.

I've arranged a cold air feed for my induction kit which basically consists of a pipe pointing towards it from the original air intake.
