| In Barbados until 1st Sep | Exhaust Fitting There are always loads of queries as to prices for exhaust fittings. So I thought it would be usefull if all those out there with aftermarket exhausts state the price that they payed for fitment. I have phoned kwik-fit and many others for quotes but they all say that mini coopers are not listed yet.... Thanks Dale |

Offline | I think I paid about 40-50 quid including vat. I have a magnex which I bought from Elite in Rainham, Essex they also fitted it all in for £300.00 . I had a Pipercross fitted at xtreme in Harlow aswell. Re the exhaust, they took their time and completed the fine tuning/ checking for leaks in about 1 - 1.5 hours I would not trust Quick fit, if they says "its not listed" they also mean they have never done one. Try one of the aftermarket "boy racer" workshops they will supply and fit. Try and get a recommendation although they fit this sort of thing all the time. Take a trip down to it maybe have a look around. Good luck. CHILLI RED, CHILLI PACK, MAGNEX & PIPERCROSS BAGS OF FUN gone now but not forgotten, an s next time ? |

Offline | Yep, its a sports exhaust and it definately lets you know. Pushing hard it roars, poodling around town it's just a bit louder than a p*ussy cat. Its always deep and meaningfull though I'll have to post a sound clip. The real "partnership" though is when you wed it to a cone air intake...wow. ![]() CHILLI RED, CHILLI PACK, MAGNEX & PIPERCROSS BAGS OF FUN gone now but not forgotten, an s next time ? |

Offline | yes, at idleing, low revs its always there...just not so much as when you are pushing 4500-6000 revs ![]() I had a look at buying a schnitzer exhaust from MINI but it was so quiet there was no point. Looked nice though. It felt a bit quicker but no audible feedback ![]() CHILLI RED, CHILLI PACK, MAGNEX & PIPERCROSS BAGS OF FUN gone now but not forgotten, an s next time ? |

Offline | different exhausts push out differing levels of sound, with mine the exhaust balances the filter, which means that the sound/ noise levels are about the same so you get a balanced sound from front and rear. hope this makes sense ![]() CHILLI RED, CHILLI PACK, MAGNEX & PIPERCROSS BAGS OF FUN gone now but not forgotten, an s next time ? |

Offline | Dale, the Play Mini exhausts are supposed to give a nice sound, and are great because they are a direct cat-back replacement. I plan to go for the unsilenced front pipe and the slash cut exhaust. See www.playmini2.co.uk. |

Offline | Let us know how u got on, incidentally I phoned Janspeed today and asked about modds other than their "package" for the cooper. They said their manifold which is stainless steel ? is that good ? knocks out upto 9 BHP extra although I imagine it will be less. The cost was around 500 quid plus fitting, so not cheap. They also do a new cylinder head which is a replacement for the existing one. So you drop yours off and leave it whilst having their new one fitted. Anyone have any thoughts on these kind of "toys" ? are they worth it ? and will they knacker the car ? adios ![]() CHILLI RED, CHILLI PACK, MAGNEX & PIPERCROSS BAGS OF FUN gone now but not forgotten, an s next time ? |

Offline | I did an in-depth search of the forums not so long ago to find some information on the Play Mini exhaust only, as that is the one I am most interested in because it required no modification. Everyone who has one says that it's not too loud, even with the unsilenced front pipe. |

Offline | The magnex requires no form of modification either, if you give me your email address I'll get a sound file from my dv camera right now ! ![]() CHILLI RED, CHILLI PACK, MAGNEX & PIPERCROSS BAGS OF FUN gone now but not forgotten, an s next time ? |

Offline | Though a stainless steel manifold and new cylinder head would be good and most probably would give a noticable increase in performance, I personally wouldn't go that far. When when the day comes when I want more performance, I'll get a Cooper S! I'd be more inclined to go for something like the AMD OneClick. It's easier (and sort of won't void the warranty). |

| In Barbados until 1st Sep | I have so many mods to do! Help me! Im not sure which one to do first, i am inevitably going to do them all in the next few months. The question is in what order? Should I: a) Get whalen and chrome rings for interior. b) Get special custom viper stripes that fade from black to silver (on black roof) and back to black again. OR c) New Cat-back exhaust (either magnex, magnaflow or playmini) Which one first? |
