Offline | Please post your 0-60 or 1/4 mile times here, all MINI models/specs. Hello, There's been a few threads on MINI over time about 1/4 mile run times and also 0-60 times of different MINIs. I thought it would be good if we could start to try and compile people's different experiences. I'd like to know results of timed 0-60 and/or 1/4 mile runs, and I'm sure a lot of others would like to hear too. But please no "stop watch" figures, only results using testing equipment such as a member of the G-Tech family (http://www.gtechpro.com/) or the Race Technology range (http://www.race-technology.com/WebPa.../Products.html) or a drag strip (http://www.santapod.com/), or other verified/trusted measuring device! It would also be nice if people could post the specs of their car, the tempurature (if known), what mods have been done, fuel levels etc, so we can try and get an idea of how things really compare to each other. This isn't a competition, but just a place to compile some facts that others might find useful. No "that's BS" or "mines better than yours" type talk please! This isn't a "banter" thread either, sorry to sound a bit blunt, but we can discuss this thread and methods etc. elsewhere! Thank you! Also, in addition to this thread for 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, Andy has his own page of 1/4 mile times he's been compiling at: http://www.ross-tech.net/andy/mini/...uartermile.html That is for official drag strip times only, NOT those using other measuring/data capture tools. Offline | I was contacted by IML337, an Aussie MINI2er, who ran a best time of 15.1 seconds in his Cooper S for the quarter mile at Sydney's Eastern Creek dragstrip today. I'll have to get him to post weather/fuel info etc. I can tell you his MCS has had NO engine modifications. ![]() |

Offline | Good to put this data all in one place. Using a gtechpro, here's what I posted on another thread: - Mine is a standard cooper with not even a panel filter : We were two-up (maybe 150 kg combined), half a tank of regular unleaded fuel, 16" alloys with heavy runflat tyres: - First run was 9.17s (wheelspin) then 9.14s (wheelspin again) less revs needed we thinks ... 9.28s (bogged down D'uh!) so again with 4,500 revs but more slowly off the clutch: - 8.88s thats better then again : 8.69s : the best time we were able to record. During one of the later runs (but I'm not sure which) we also recorded a standing quarter mile time of 16.92s at 84.2mph. Finally we logged the 60-0 braking performance. The ABS worked overtime and stopped us in 156 feet. I have no idea how this compares to factory or improved data, anybody? (dry road, maybe 15 degrees centigrade) The lesson learned was to monitor, modify technique, improve. ... 8.69s from a std cooper is quite reasonable I think ![]() Juno |

My best friend brought here to Colorado his heavily modified Subaru WRX (dynoed at 431hp at the crank), and his best run was a dissapointing 13.6@102mph. (His best time is 12.7@109 at 2,000 ft.). Using the very conservative Tripod altitude conversion calculator, (http://members.tripod.com/~MY5LTRLXCPE/altitude.html), my time at sea level indicates a more realistic 14.54@98.38mph. | MINI 2 OLD BOY | Hartge MCS with no other mods (at that time), fully loaded with options & and a 16 stone driver and 28 oC! hehe , cannot comment on timing gear but i ran at elvington and they had all the top notch equipment , that all i can say so i imagine its very accurate , kept running consecutive 15.5s runs , oh , also 18" breyton wheels , absolutley gutted! I assure you this had nothing to do with the driver b4 we even go into that , i wasnt happy with the Hartge conversion for a while , this just confirms my dissapointment , may have something to do with the weight / temp but very very poor none the less , i shall be doing some testing in the track car soon so i shall report on that too. Offline | At Sydney's WSID complex, my fully optioned and totally standard Cooper S did the following time: 60' 2.436 330' 6.560 660' 9.872 - 74.13mph 1000' 12.719 ET 15.141 - 92.34mph Ambient temp was about 15-18 degrees C I think. Oh, by the way, the car has 17x7" BBS RK rims and Yokohama AVS ES100 tyres, instead of 17" s-spokes and runflats. *edit* Fuel was standard 98RON pump fuel, altitude was about 60m(?) and date was May 22 2004 ![]() Last edited by IML337 : Jun 27th, 2004 at 07:31 AM. |

I'll copy those time and edit them to my post. the strip is not at Sea lvl and i dont know the ALT for the Strip its self. i'll go the VMP's (Virginia Motorsports Park) website and see if its posted there. http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29298 #799 <-- note this is the post number for the comparison. its like on page 54 Andy@Ross-Tech.com MINI2 Sponsor Join Date: Oct 2002 Location: Lansdale, PA Local Time: 07:21 AM Posts: 1,221 Offline Here's an interesting comparison.
